Nov 24 (day 85): Start of week 13. Brought her up to the sink for her watering today, which is much easier than messing around in the greenhouse with syringes. Bringing her upstairs from the cellar isn't an issue as the pot is light at this point. Fed with 5L of water and week 9 of the nute schedule. Turned my back for a second and found my cat chewing on her leaves ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ป She was clearly fascinated by the scent. Maybe she thought this was a huge catnip plant just for her! Bloody hell, lets hope it doesn't affect her in any way. She didn't ingest any of the leaves, so hopefully just a taste ๐ It's much harder taking her back down to the cellar when the pot is full and heavy and I managed to soak myself via the airpot holes ๐ญ Seems that I am destined to get regular soakings via this growing process!
Nov 25 (day 86): Looking good today, buds are continuing to fatten. Its still very hot in this tent with the new 400w light and is reaching 30C ๐ฐ I am having to routinely try and open the tent door to let the temperature drop down to 24C and then close it back up again.
Nov 26 (day 87): Looking good, but the heat is still a problem. Keeping an eye on the pot weight in case she needs watering more often, but she seems ok and not in need of water yet.
Nov 27 (day 88): All good and despite the heat, she's not in need of water as the pot doesn't feel completely light yet.
Nov 28 (day 89): She's really packing on the weight now and the buds are continuing to fatten right up! I'm also getting a lot of new white pistils coming out which is a new experience. With my other plants Ophelia and Wendy, the pistils went orange and stayed that way. Mind you, this whole experience has been different with these two plants. I did the LST when they were bigger and they are a completely different shape. They have grown SOOOOOOO much bigger than the others. Even though the other plants were 10 days ahead, I learnt from my mistakes and applied them to these plants and the difference has been HUGE. Got a load of pictures of the trichomes. I normally try and take a close up picture of each bud, which is why there are so many. This also lets me compare the trichome colouring overall. Trichomes are around 50% Cloudy, 50% Clear now I think and still only a few ambers. Still a way to go I think, so will just keep going until I think I need to start flushing. Fed with 5L of water, week 9 of the nute schedule, microbes and calmag. Of course my nosy cat came along and tried to EAT HER AGAIN ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ก
Nov 29 (day 90): Getting annoyed with this heat issue now. I really don't want to turn the light down but it is throwing out SO much heat. I am also getting fed up of having to keep going down to the cellar and open the tent door to drop the heat from 30C and the leaves on the girls are turning upwards at the sides which is a sign of heat stress too. I rang up my pal at the grow shop for some advice and he suggested that I need to move the ducting from the extractor further away from the tent. Essentially, the heat from the ducting (which is on top of the tent) is then cooking the tent from the outside in ๐ซ He also suggested that my humidity is too low at 38% (even though thats what I had read on the RQS site) and that it should be higher for the girls to thrive. Guess I have been worrying about bud rot a bit TOO much ๐ฑ I went down and set the dehumidifier up to 50% and moved the ducting as far away from the tent as possible. Let's see if things improve.
Nov 30 (day 91): End of week 13. Yep, heating issue is much better. Humidity isn't rising as quickly as I want, but the max temperature is now at 26C which is much better. When the light goes off, its cooler in the tent in the dark too, so I'm getting more of a night and day temperature which I didn't get in the greenhouse as the heater was keeping the temperature constant. All in all a good week despite the heat issues. Lots of weight going onto the buds and the plants look much more like the ones I see in other peoples diaries ๐
NOTE: Nutrient amount is the total amount of nutes given during the week.
Anybody know what this is at the top of my bud?! Looks like a flower?! Got so many new white pistils all over which is surprising this late into flower?! Is this why she is called white widow? ๐ค
@KingSalomonsWeed, Ah I see what you mean. Yes, I think I will move it closer, but the issue is that she shares a light with Ophelia and she is a bit taller. I'm worried if I lower it too much, it will burn the top of Ophelia. I had made a note that it should be 18 inches (45cm) above the canopy at this stage. I will lower it later, thank you!
@greenhousegrowgirl, Hi, i mean that you can put down your lamp, if possible. Because the plant than becomes more energy. I mean 30 cm is full ok on an LED light.
No probs with the brown leaves. This should be old leaves. Let them on until the plant soaked them complete brown.
Ahh and more water. You cant get root putrifaction in this air pot. Give em till they drain. Use plastik bags for saucer.
They drink more than you thought.
Overall good work.
@greenhousegrowgirl,
Hi, your Ophelia is good to go for another two weeks. She has to turn the trichomes looking down also to be milky. Btw. First glasy than milky than bigger milky, golden, amber.
You use great BioBizz products. Chill you don't need to flush.
Bio means that the plant can only can use what the soil gives her.
Just give her water. And the upper buds will first ripe, than it will go down. You have the time.... ๐ WONDERFULL PLANTS
@KingSalomonsWeed, ๐๐๐ lucky you! I have run out and won't have any until these babies are ready! Please can you take a look at my 'Ophelia' diary and let me know what you think of my new trichome photos? Do you think I am flushing at the right time with a view to harvest this weekend? The trichomes look part clear, part cloudy to me ๐
