So Every month somebody asks how do I join so here's the run down
To enter you need to have had a HARVESTED single strain Diary
With enough weekly details and photos to attain the green smiley face near your diaries title Have all of this then you should see a green join icon above
Remember This Contests is designed for Newbies Only other growers can join the diary of the Month Giveaway. Same procedure for entering as above.

Hello to all the new growers! Don't want to get mushy on all y'all, but I wanted to say congratulations to all of you. If you're in this contest, it means you've propagated your first successful harvest. Regardless of the contest, if you have bud in hand, grown by your own hand, you already win!
I know many people that have tried and failed time and time again, but you all have made it. You have successfully started your Cannabis journey and to that I congratulate you all.
No matter what happens or who wins, give yourselves a pat on the back. You need to be proud of your efforts, cause I am!

@StoneySquatch, It's a weird system but I think I understand what and why they do it like this.
I believe it's for equal viewership from the community. When people come to the page, it's highly unlikely they will run through 50+ diaries and will probably look more at the top 3-5 entries. If they didn't cycle the diaries, a finite amount of people would receive all of the attention, upvotes, comments etc... By doing this they give the community a taste of each entry and gauge the response given, to help in choosing the winning entries.
I was almost always in 30 to 40th place. I took this as a serious placing and essentially moved on, lol. Thought there was no chance and started focusing on my new project. Imagine my surprise when I got the message that I placed 2nd.... I just didn't understand.
After talking to a couple other members, this is my only guess as to how/why it works.

P.S! I see the "new" growers too. They come by every month looking to grab some free genetics when they may clearly be veteran growers (or they may have the "touch" and are legitimately Green thumbs). The way I see it...if you and I notice, so does GD. They protect their sponsors and operate a tight ship. They may not boot that person from the contest, but will just ignore the entry if they feel there's something hinky going on.

@StoneySquatch, There are a LOT of entries in this that aren't first grows. In fact, 24 of the 57 growers who entered are ranked as "Apprentice" and some of them entered diaries that were not their first grow. I'm sure the judges ignore those entries, though, because none of those made the top 3.

@TreeFarmerCharlie, yeah figured as much, was sitting in no.1 for a week before it ended and thought I had a really good shot at it when the ticker first ran out but they just kept adding days to it haha. Bit of a let down honestly and iβm questioning if some of these are really βfirst growsβ but it was a blast competing.
