Should I keep defoliating as the plants grow? They're getting extremely bushy and I don't want that to be a problem with airflow and the like.

Hi @JemFinnaughty! With bushy plants, defoliation is highly advised, especially when flowering has begun, because bud-sites need the maximum light to properly develop and transform into fatty-sticky-smelly buds. However, remember that after 2-3 weeks of blooming, your plant won't produce new leaves anymore, so you should avoid to 'over-do' and just tuck the main fan leaves that are creating shades onto lower bud-sites. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Hello ! I'm against defoliation but in your case it's a smart idea as your plant is bushy and leafy so remove leaves will help for a better light penetration/repatition. But stop defoliating during the flowering phase , you can carefully remove leaves during the stretch (2 first weeks of flowering ) then after don't defoliate anymore. And don't forget , defoliation is a stress ( try epilation hair and you'll see). Hope it will help you 👍😁

Ah defoliating, a controversial subject. Best advice I can give you is to try for yourself, I've done it and I'm still not sure if it helps or not; I have not yielded more or less when not doing it. If your humidity is not high, I would not remove foliage.

Hey Jem what may seem like some innocent leaf plucking to you is in fact a high stress event for your plant ! It's best to err on the side of caution even on leaves that are turning . Air flow can be an issue when there's not enough of it but you'll be pretty much fine. If you're worried though try pointing a fan at the wall of your grow room, that should do the trick. just make sure airflow isnt pointed directly at the plants but you'll see her take shape during the flower stretch and she'll fix herself up nicely. Good luck floweren ! 🚀

Hi i would only pic away the leaves that block the Light to the Flowers. Automatic plants have a short life circle, and to much defoilation would stress them. They are trying to build new leaves then, and that reduces the power for their development. Picking awy every day 3-4 leaves is ok
