Hi there, short answer : yes! This will retain humidity and help to keep a warm soil. Highly recommended when growing outside! Keep up the good work, your setup is beautiful! I'll be around, good luck ;-)

Hi, Some growers do this and its not a bad idea, of course you can. By ontop, I mean over the soil.
