Guys I have a question about ppm. So only my last grow I always used ro water. My ppm was only as high as 500-600. Now does this mean as the plant gets bigger I have use non-ro water later on in order to get it up?? As long as my ph is good and nutrients are not too high why not?

PPM is the measurement of impurity's in your water , So for example with R.O its very low in comparison to tap water the idea behind it is that the less junk that in your water the more nutrients a plant can uptake instead . So for example if your R.O is 600 PPM that means there's pretty much only what you put in the water ( in the way of nutrients ) But say for example its really high like 1000 not only is this going to cause problems for you plants because theres too much stuff in the water but as a result the plant will have a hard time absorbing the nutrients it needs because of the mass of other bullshit in the water . Lower the PPM the better . So if you can get your PPM to its appropriate levels for the plants age and development plus have the PH on point you will be styling and profiling my friend ! Hope this helps -Happy Growing!

Hello! As you are using RO water And the flora series nutrients you should also use the Lucas Formula which is a tweaked nutrition schedule that used RO water (it's an agressive schedule but it works well). You only need flora micro and flora bloom , if I remember well you should mix 16ml of bloom + 8ml of micro for 1 gallon of water , half the dose for seedling and young plants and 10ml bloom + 5ml micro for low light setups (under 250w). And the really useful thing is that with TO water this formula is a PH PERFECT formula , so no need to check Ec or PH with Lucas formula. I hope it will help you 😁👍

the good thing about RO water is you know what's in it, which should be nothing. Other kinds of water have micro nutrients in them for example, fluoride and calcium for tap water, and carbon and magnesium for mineral water. Upping you PPM synthetically by using something else than RO will work for sure, but are they good PPMs? that's the main question, and why you don't want to up your PPM simply by switching to a different kind of water. If you do, and you want to spend $ on water, mineral water has loads of Carbon and minerals in it, that could be a good thing. think about adding some CO2 if you can, in veg it's very important indeed !

I'm not sure if I understand your question. Are you asking if you can up the PPM's just for the sake of it? You up the PPM of the feeds to meet the plant's needs so it can develop at a good pace. If the plant is happy with your current concentration of nutes, why up it? That can lead to nutrient burn / nute lockout, and the like. Anyway, if you want to up the PPM's changing from using RO water to Tap water would not be a good way, tap water is usually full of stuff that can harm your plant: too much calcium, chlorine, too high pH. Up the PPM if you notice the plant is showing signs of deficiencies.
