I have a 150W (50 3w LEDS) and a 300W (60 5w LEDS). I've been using just the 300W for the entire grow in my grow box which is only 4' X 1.5' X 1.1' Does anyone think I should be using the 150W light at any point in the grow, and if so, when?

I grow with LED for few years now, depending on your fixture and it's coverage you won't need to use additional lights, just lower the fixture in flower to get more intensity (recommended for veg 500-800 umol/m2/s, for flower +800), naturally if you put more power in you get more yield...it's your call, if you want it- do it when switching to flower, also think about the heat dispatch and your ventilation sys- can it take it? when using LED your temp should be higher than when utilizing traditional systems without use of CO2- about 29-30* is perfectly fine, also humidity level will fall and you should keep an eye on it ;) till week 3 flo- 60%, then 50-60% till 3 weeks before harvest- and 40% in those 3 weeks for good hard nugs and a nice resin coat, good luck with ur grow

Hi @LLJavelin! Plant looks great and the room looks small, I won't recommend to add any light unless you're sure you can control your temperature. I'm afraid adding a light may lead you into the dangerous temp zone, however if you can handle this issue, another light with the right spectrum will help buds to fatten up. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Hey man, the more light the better most of the time. The standard is 50W per square foot so just work off that baseline. You can always add lights as the grow goes on and the bushes get bigger. I saw @silverback_gorilla add a full led strip which i found awesome. What you can do right now is lower the light a bit and raise it a bit during flower. good luck !

Hey there, so typically more light is better. If you can control the height and the temperature I would say add it. If you see your plants behaving oddly, light burn, or leaves going from happy at first light to unhappy looking towards the evening, it may be the lighting. I see your plants listed at 12inch and the tent at 4ft, so you've definitely got room to work with. So I'd go for it, but maybe add one small oscillating fan in for good measure. 😊💚🌱 happy growing.

Hello @LLJavelin ! From luminosity perspective it depends form the led's abilities. Some led's have an output 40-50 lum/wattt , other led's like XP-E cree have 120 lum/watt and cob's like CXB 3590 cree have 190 lum/watt. Although i don't think it will be to much for your grow box. The problem ( not a big one though ) is with the light diffusion . It will be uneven with 2 lights of different output at a rectangular parallelepiped grow box . Anyway, i think you should try and judge by the results.. Happy growing ! 👊

I'm currently on week 3 veg. Been using a CFL300w from the start. As soon as i start flowering ill add another 300w CFL or potentially a 400w HID. So the answer to your question. I'd say add more light at any time you feel you can. Keep an eye on temps and yoir plant when you do add the extra light
