Is defoliating an auto strain in week 8 too risky or is the plant likely to recover?

You could maybe take a few leaves, over the next week, without too much setback, but I really wouldn't recommend it with how far she's into flowering. - If you absolutely have to do it, don't take more than a single leaf a day, preferably 1 every second day. What I'd recommend instead, is harvest her in stages later on. So you take the branches that are ready, and let the rest grow, and continue till you're satisfied they're all done. That'll probably give you a better yield than starting defoliation at this point in time.

I personally would not defoliate unless u absolutely have to I did and it def stunted my plants big time and I only took off a little bit, I'm now a believer that leaves r solar panels to power the plant, so my opinion is do not defoliate others may have had a diff experience that's jus mine and I will never defoliate again unless I have to

Unless the leaf is blocking a ton of light or if you really have mold problems, leave it alone.
