Defoliation technique?

Greenbum
Greenbumstarted grow question 4 years ago
How many times can I defoliate during flower or how often can I do it? Beginning of week 3 and I've defoliated heavily twice already but the canopy is overly thick again. Will I stress my flowering girls if I keep the defoliation at every 10 days?

After week 3 I would try and not remove anything unless you have too. Tuck, tuck, tuck...lol you will stress your plants and slow them down ultimately defeating your purpose in the first place. I try not to take anything after week 2 of flower. Hope this helps, Cheers💨

I would recommend only to remove yellowish leaves. While the leaves are still green and healthy, they are making the energy your plant needs to grow. Removing healthy green leaves only diminishes your plants ability to make energy. Less energy = slower and smaller growth. Hope this helps..... Organoman.

@russrahl is correct. You are going to stunt your growth in flower if you do a heavy, coordinated defol past day 21. It’s perfectly find to selectively defoliate later in flower but you’re not there yet. I personally do a very heavy defol day 1 and day 20 of flower. Not a full Shwazz, but damn near close. Take a look at my 1 visible journal to see what I mean. Good luck
