New setup - looking for noobie feedback. What are the side vents on the tent for? Should I keep them open? I don't need to worry about light leaking from a stealth perspective...is it better for the tent to have some incoming air? Also, lights are currently scheduled for 16 on.

Yeah bro those holes are for ventilation, intake and exhaust vent. You wanna have an intake at the bottom and put the exhaust usually with a carbon filter attached, to expel the hot air that accumulates at the top of the tent. Your gonna need some kind of ventilation depending on your tents holes.. 6” or 4” normally with both. Personally I use a 6” exhaust fan and filter with 4” intake plus a tower fan. Also when you flower your gonna need the tent to be completely sealed for 12 hours of continuous darkness.

The side vents are your air intakes. If your tent is in am area that has alot of light during the dark period you can cover them with a dark fabric. I actually just taped a folded cloth pot over mine. You can close them but the tent may suck inwards a bit due to a vacuum and the tent may heat up more
