We did a more thorough scan of the rest of the house and front yard and found a tomato plant that was covered in the bugs from the video. They used a vinegar/water solution and soaked the tomato plant. Yesterday the weather here was in the mid 70's and humid (I'm in the PNW) and you could see the bugs flying in the air so it seemed environment related. The bugs aren't nearly as bad today but the temperature is in the upper 80's so maybe it's drying everything out? The plant in the planter was moved inside and the 2 plants that are in the ground were treated and sprayed off and I put a very fine mesh screen around them both. Hopefully that will help!

Looks like fungut gnats mate. They are attracted by moist conditions and overwatered soil (if you got bad soil from a store they can already have made a home in the bag at the store prior to you buying) They love yellow stickies If they are in the soil you have a dew options: Top dress with a ligut powdering of diatomaceous earth - kills adults Get some nematodes sf - they eat the larvae but use a TINY amount of the powder. You can do a neem drench You can do a H2O2 drench - nuclear option against your substrate microbiology so apply fungus and beneficial bacteria if you do this if you are organics. If you have been overwatering let the pot dry and they cant fly well so turn the fan up.
