When temps increase due to warmer weather do most people raise lights or reduce wattage? I guess different growers use both methods to lower canopy temps but I can't see that this question has been asked very much. Thanks

Hey there 3ftG , there's only so much you can do with the lights, like raise them just a bit, or make the night cycle that much longer and during the warm hours, but what you really need is to bring the temperature of the tent down sustainably. That's why I am suggesting an evaporative cooler in addition to that, it's fairly cheap and because it's low tech it lasts forever probably. This would bring the temp of your tent down quite a few °C, and hopefully help your plants weather the weather. Hope this helps ! 🚀

You can do multiple things but not limited to the following: Increase your inline fan draw if you have a controller, increase tent ventilation, switch from passive to forced air into your grow tent, add A/C, switch your light cycle to time of day where it is cooler outside, defoliate your canopy to allow better air flow etc...

26c is not to high my friend. Mine were hitting 28/31c and I got an evaporative cooler blowing cool air into the tent as suggested above by @LaBOSSANOVA

Raising the lights might cause unwanted stretch and lowering your wattage will slow down your growth. The only real options are to increase the amount of air you are pulling out of the room or add air conditioning.

I agree as long as you have a good environment it doesn’t really matter how close that light is unless you start to see burning. Then move away but my tent gets into the 90’s sometimes it’s just life I mean it gets that hot outside sometimes just think about that. Honesty if the lights closer the plant will use more of it’s stored energy and grow

I would look into a small ac until for the grow room, more ventilation and fans, you can reduce wattage if need be but this also effects yields but you have to do what you have to do, raising lights will help a bit but your more effective way is an ax unit! Happy growing

Hi mate yes you can reduce wattage if thats an option plus raise the lights But the most important thing is to have an adequate air flow and ventilation happening. If the temps get too high you may also benfit from the use of an airconditioner. Hope this helps mate 😀
