Hello, I'm on my first growing and I have a plant starting tomorrow the fifth week and she should start to flowering between week 6 and 7. The question is can I start to defoliate or is too late? If yes which leaves to removed? Thank you

Defo to improve airflow or to allow better penetration of light -- make sure you have a very good reason. I don't see a good reason at this moment. I'd let an axillary growth below stretch a bit before removing a leaf above them. Let them fill out a bit and have leaves of their own. Axillary growth (side branching) can stretch a bit at first.. the first 1-2 growth nodes won't typically be very fruitful anyway, and often removed if any lolopop is done. After that, i'd want a bit more intense light hitting its terminal node to preventn further stretching of internodes. But, that big fat leaf above is contributing WAY too much to lop it off right now. Photosynthesis produces ATP (krebb's cycle) ... ATP is what powers cellular growth. Removing a large solar panel early is more of a negative impact than a positive one in more cases than not.

No All of your leaves are getting lots of light and are not blocking any lower leave. The only reason you would want to defoliate is if a fan leaf is blocking a bud site, Fan leaf no longer gets light, Increase air circulation or the leaf has no nutrients left and has turned yellow or brown. Every leaf will provide energy to create larger buds. You want to keep as many as possible. lolipoping is a good method used to increase airflow and reduce the amount of popcorn buds and focuses energy to the top of the plant, This is usually done when the plant is so bushey no light is reaching the lower canopy. Once you flip usually a cleanup around week 2 of flower after she has stretched you can do a cleanup of the lower canopy. If you have time watch this video. He provides a lot of good information. www.youtube.com/watch Happy Growing

I mean you could remove some of it, either remove some of the fan leaves covering the lower bud sites so they can get more light, or alternatively remove the lower bud sites that are in shade so the plant focuses on the top, be careful not to remove too much though, I usually go by no more than 20% rule but im sure people vary. Either way, I personally dont really think its that bushy or needs much defoliation if any, if it was me, id do some LST with the main stem, get it lower, and let the lower branches catch up. Good luck with the grow mate! :)
