Trimming

Vindollar
Vindollarstarted grow question 2 years ago
My plant is dense, all of the stems and flowers are close to the stalk. I was wondering if trimming all of the sun leaves to make room for sunlight would be a good idea, I don’t want to hurt my plant.

With auto's I rely on low stress training and do minimal leaf removal. I only remove fan leaves that are shading a bud site. Before doing that though I will tuck the problem leaf under and only remove it if it keeps popping out and annoys me.

In my experience trimming methods depend on strain, I always advocate minimal trimming and more training/tucking, the plants response will depend on strain, I also like to trim fan leaves off the bottom when they start to Die, it helps the plant conserve energy and opens up air flow

Trim away mate. It encourages more growth and lets the light in. If you haven't done it before, don't go overboard, you can't stick them back on. Keep it even, & use clean equipment. Good luck, & don't forget some pics

Hello Vindollar in general we don't defoliate with auto but you can defoliate just a little to bring more light on lower bud sites. Don't defoliate too much because it is a stress for your plant. As you are in 3 rd week of flowering you are in the good window to do your defoliation. Good luck. Bye
