Gradually prepare for the "SWITCH"

Hello all! What is your way to prepare plants for the switch in terms of light? Do you reduce hours of light slowly until the day of the "switch"? Do you gradually push up the power of the lamp? At this time i am giving my ladies 24 hours of light, lamp at about 25% of power.

Your are correct that some growers will match DLI or just increase DLI by moving the lights closer in flower and keep the dark period at 12. You could if you wanted to graduly chnage the light like the sun does naturely it will just take some time. Most plants are ok with a hard switch of 12/12 from whatever they where on. I would do the switch at lights off. so if it was 18/6 from 5am to 11pm lights on, I would move it to 5am to 5pm. Good Luck!

No. Don't do that, yes you can play with the power. But the switch is something you should do instantly espically with fems/regs autos are more forgiving and don't mind light changes and different times if u get me. But just switch from 18/6 straight to 12/12 Don't come down you'll only confuse the process of fem she won't know when to flower or veg.

Yes, you reduce the lights to 12/12 and you'll notice them starting to flower within the next 7 days.

Some growers match DLI (Daily Light Integral), for example: 450 μmol/m²/s during 12 hours (veg) 900 μmol/m²/s during 24 hours (flowering) Has someone tried that?
