It really won't affect your personal home grow diddly squat. Just use the recommendations that came with the instructions for YOUR light. Tiny, tiny, tiny details and variances in nano quantities will not affect your plants overall well being to any home grown noticeable or quantifiable amount. It may be 0.0001% THC either way or half a seconds extra or less growth over 12 weeks. All light is converted into energy and all energy is used equally wherever there is growth occuring. A plant can not direct energy anywhere, it is all divided equally. A plant can not think "leaf alpha bravo charlie 639 in quadrant 8 is only receiving 69% of the light as leaf delta echo foxtrot 95 in quadrant 74, so we must do something about it"! These things are gimmicks to make money. They will not turn ordinary plants into super plants. They are designed by people to sucker in (stoned) people into thinking they are missing out on something and are about getting you to spend your money with them. FMO, nothing more, nothing less. Generally with lighting, I go with 100% and veg and bloom spectrums both switched on, from day one until harvest day. Seedlings at roughly 24 inches, veg at roughly 18 inches and bloom at roughly 12 inches. Concentrate more on nutrition and watering, these will have a bigger effect than light distribution. Besides, how are you going to change anything to make your light behave differently. Better to focus on what you have, instead of what you might have. Greetings and salutations, Organoman.

Go by your lights ppfd chart height map. It will show you the true a tested method if u are using any kind of brand led that's not custom. These companies have PPFD/PAR meters we wouldn't even know how to knock on and that run into the hundreds of 1000s so any meter u buy will be a waste of money if it's not for a custom grow room where ppl need to map out there ppfd chart and move plants around to get best out of map. In a tent set up or even a 1 light system set up, leave it to the tried and tested methods/charts that are provided. I wouldn't waste my money on meters buy a good Hanna/ Milwaukee PH pen for the money you'd spend a a par/ppfd meter. A no way would any phone app give u a reading u can trust. Good luck pal.

*no way a phone camera will be able to do this "well"... i should say. it's a lux meter wrapped in glitter.

it's basically a lux meter using a factor for generic LED spectrum. not unlike "PPM" or TDS meters... they don't measure ppm. they measure electrical conductivity then convert it using 1 of 3 factors - .5, .64, and .7 https://www.perfectgrower.com/knowledge/knowledge-base/ec-to-ppm-conversion-chart/ A real par meter, unlike these devices, actually measures the number of photons in a more accurate and precise way. there's absolutely no way the camera on your phone will be able to do this. So, it can be used "like" a lux meter. i wouldn't trust the ppfd it gives your, nor the DLI it calculates. i would trust that is proportional to total intensity. if you are careful to measure at same distance from led and same locations, you can have a really good idea of proportional intensity and coverage. beyond that you can observe plant for light or heat damge... push it as far as you can and back off when you see problems. even with a par meter you must go through this process. your ambient environment will make for different results with your plants than others, too.
