Germination

I know there are tons of ways people germinate... me? I like to keep things simple, as you say... I put my seed straight into the grow medium, soak the soil around it with about 1/4 cup of water, cover the pot so no light gets into it and put a trash bag over the whole thing to keep the humidity in... and I leave it there for 3 days. Seeds have usually germinated by this time but if not, I cover it back up and wait another day. I've only had one seed not germinate in this way and it avoids doing damage to the small sprout if you, for example, germinate in a glass of water or between moistened paper towels... why run the risk? I've used the cup of water for 12 hours then into a wet paper towel for 3 days and had real good success. Then I just put my finger in the middle of the soil to my first knuckle and put my seed with the root down. Within 24 to 48 hours they are already popped up. I don't do a humidity dome or any of that. Just the first 48-72 in full darkness.

i germinate my seed between two cotton disc for 60 hour with 1/3h2o2 2/3tap water (this adjust the pH of my tap water as well as prevent germs) then transplant directly into final pots in soil.

I put my seeds in a wet paper towel inside a tuppaware container and then put it somewhere warm and dark, in my boiler cupboard keeps the temperature nice. I've had great success with it, I've literally just started 19 seeds with this method, have a look at my new diaries and you'll see exactly how many terminate and how fast in about a week.

Put seed in a glass of water for 12 hours. That will soften the shell. Then plant into the medium you are planing to grow in. Best of luck the rest of the way.
