If anyone can tell me why the bracts look so strange on these plants (they're short, stubby, squashed, indented, inwards curling, etc.) that'd be great. I haven't seen this before (with many many other plants) and it's a bit bizarre to me so I'm wondering what that means. Is it because of being feminized, inbred, or what?

I think from what info you give about the tempretures. It fluctuates to much during day and night. 86 during the day is too hot at this flowering stage. try to aim more at 73 degrees during the day and 61 degrees at night. Its also strain dependend how it reacts to the temprature fluctuations, these down budds might be the result of that. Nothing really to worry bout you can still do something about it, and the rest of your budds look great. Hope its an helpfull answer. Keep on growing, Peace👍

Hi someguy, there is nothing to be concerned, those plants just different. I love those variations from strain to strain, from plant to plant. Its like the tomatoes, you can get yellow, striped black red ones and round oval , and in every size and taste. THe same in MJ...Your Girls looking nice and fiull of sticky trichomes, she would hit very hard ( iam guessing) . So enjoy mother natures diverity and iam very courious how she works out

Yes that is all about genetics pretty much. Example there are strains that grow foxtail buds and there are strains that grow dense buds. Nothing to ba alarmed about. The bracts have the densest covering of capitate-stalked resin glands of any plant part, and it is within the heads of these resin glands that the plant synthesizes and holds the highest concentrations of cannabinoids and terpenes of any plant part. Bracts make up most of the substance and weight of high-quality marijuana buds.
