Yes you can top them! You need to do it early but not too early. Wait till the plant got 5 nodes, cut the highest and the lowest node. This together with LST will give you a great shape plant during the grow. Enjoy your grow!

I heaps prefer to just bend them over but Iโve topped before both intentionally and a weird seedling that topped itself and harvests are very similar. I still prefer bending them over tho just because I think itโs less stressful for the plant

Absolutely top them as early as possible. One of the best training methods for autos since you have a short veg time.

Is it bad to top an autoflower at this stage?I accidentally broke off the top of the plant while attempting to low stress train and now it came like this, kinda like topping.. is it bad to stress the plant this much since it's an auto on week 5? Height autoflowersMy white widow auto is now 68 cm - 27 inch. I try to maintain light at 30cm-12 inch but she grows at 20cm-8 inches. what if she grows more and it poses a ploblem with light LED penetration ? Should I do sthing (topping, LST) or it's too late ? What is the risk to apply HS training(Topping Defoliation) to the strain for which LST/SCRoG is recommended?I am growing Auto Black Opium(Divine Seeds).
The description says SCROG and LST work good.
I started bending it recently and did 1 time topping earlier.
I feel I need to do some defoliation, but it will be 2nd HS technique, which contradicts the recommendations.
