First fan leaves

I am having trouble figuring out if i should clip the very first set of leaves the plant grows that turn into giant fan leaves…. I usually stsrt at the bottom anf clip them only as they start to block bud sites. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Just remember....... less leaves = less energy being made = less growth! No real need to ever defoliate imho.

even in defoliation most mature set is left, you clean all bellow. here i would sugest to bend her or even supercrop with support to side crown level. those leaf are most fresh, will be most efficient too, tuck them to stem, expose side shoots, manipulate with wires to reposition for shading less Do anything, just leave those

En una planta automática no tendrías veneficios. Podrías estrenar la planta y perder días valiosos de producción. Además coinsido con creepy_Steve la mayor parte del ATP (Adenosín Trifosfato o Trifosfato de Adenosina) es la molécula portadora de la energía primaria para todas las formas de vida se la llevaría la cola principal de tu planta. buds don't do much photosynthesis. technically anything green on the plant has chlorophyl, but it is peanutes compared to the top of leaves. everything else is sparse and/or attenuated by comparison. light hitting leaves near the buds is what you want. ATP is mobile, so buds with apical dominance will take the lion's share even so. i wouldn't take off the largest solar panels so that some small-ish buds near bottom get more light... light that spreads out quickly - inverse square law. so if 2x as far from light as the top colas, then it is 1/4th of the photons per area on that plane. it's a lose-lose situation with little to no benefit.
