@Heavier! Usually the rule for mainlining is to wait for the plant to develop 5 nodes, then top at the 3rd node. Then wait again for 5 nodes, top again at node 3, repeat this step until you got the desired number of colas (4, 8, 16...). Topping too soon would result in a shock and you'll loose some days while topping with at least 2 nodes above will speed up the growth process for the new stems.
