I would like help with Mainlining. The stems are very thick, should i try to wait for them to get a few inches above my cut and maybe become more flexible and pliable to bend horizontal and make my second cut, (2 > 4 colas) or try bending now? I'll add photos

Typically the longer you wait the older and more woody and less pliable the stems become. Your plant training looks incredible already, you're doing all the right things and at the right time. I waited a little longer than I should have and ended up snapping some branches under very light pressure. However snapping and healing is a training in itself. After you've done your initial top and tie, you want to let the plant grow well before you equally top all new growth (and repeat if needed) for the amount of colas your aiming to get. Great job with the training it looks great. Can't wait to see it progress.

You should wait a bit : few more inches will be great and you'll still get flexible stems to bend. Let her recover from the last toping before doing it again , few more nodes could be good to : it will let her recover from the stress & thrive a bit. Hope it helped

Hi @Heavier! Usually the rule for mainlining is to wait for the plant to develop 5 nodes, then top at the 3rd node. Then wait again for 5 nodes, top again at node 3, repeat this step until you got the desired number of colas (4, 8, 16...). Topping too soon would result in a shock and you'll loose some days while topping with at least 2 nodes above will speed up the growth process for the new stems. Hope this helps, keep us up-to-date and happy growing! 👊

When in doubt, play it safe, give it an inch or two, should take a couple of days at most.
