Looking for pruning/defoliating tips

I have several tented plants under 12 hour light and I am looking for pruning/defoliating tips. Pics attached. For one, should I take out some select fan leaves to let more light down?? Lots of branches, too, maybe prune some smaller ones? Thanks for your help! John D.

Hey, good looking plants. But yeah do some defol. What you want to do is go around each bud site. And say that top bud site has 4 main leafs and lots of sugar leafs. Remove at max 2 of those fan leafs that you think will allow the most light through. And work down the node like that. Each bud site going down the entire node will have it's own fan leafs and sugar leafs make sure to leave at least half them to have enough energy drawn in. It's the leafs that catch the light and transfer it into bud sites. So as I said just go around the bud sites making sure not remove to much of those mini power stations. Which are all very healthy so you can go half, normally I'd say a 1/3 But iit's so healthy half will be enough for it to recover nicely for the final push. Need more detailed advice DM me. Some will say don't defo autos but its very good to me, I actually took about 1/3 off today around the top and middle I'll put up the pics now and hopefully you'll be able to see how little is needed to be taken, where u can get away with leaf tucking do so, that's always the better option. But some just gotta go. Best of luck pal. Happy growing.

I know people go mad for defoliation during flower but personally I like to keep the undergrowth to a min just for air circulation, but you could easily get some LST done with minimal pruning if your wanting the light to get under the top canopy. Happy growing girls looking healthy

I tend to leave as many leaves on as possible up until the last two weeks before harvest and only take off dead ones of the ones that are obviously blocking bud sites. Once your close to harvest the leaves hae done their job and you can start taking em off daily to make harvest easier and allow the light in to finish up the hardening process. And the daily stress of defol near harvest is said to boost resin and tri production too. So for now just the leaves that are facing inwards towards the center of the crown- take off some of them but leave enough to catch the light still ok. Anhy leaves facing out dont touch for now.

Yeah, get rid of all the small crappy branches, do a bit of "lollipopping" but try and leave as many leaves as possible. Just remember, - Maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth. Or to put it another way, - Less leaves = less energy = less growth. I would suggest only ever removing yellow leaves, for by the time they are yellow, they have served their purpose!
