Frisian Dew is a hardy and prizewinning hybrid created by crossing Super Skunk with Purple Star. The bouquet greets you with fruity sweetness balanced by classic skunk earthiness. Think wild berries, soft pine, and a hint of sharp citrus, all woven with a subtle herbal musk. On the tongue, the inhale carries juicy fruit tones, while the exhale adds a dash of spiced funk, lingering pleasantly in the back of the throat. Effects begin in the head with a gentle lift, mood brightens and thoughts feel clearer. Over time, a soothing body calm sets in, loosening tension without completely dimming awareness. Many users rely on Frisian Dew for stress relief, easing aches, or relaxing before sleep. From a grower’s perspective, it’s surprisingly easy. It doesn’t fuss much over feeding schedules and is forgiving in variable weather.

A beautiful plant with vigor, great stem structure, fantastic recovery from injuries, plenty of stank, and interesting history/genetics. This makes me recommend anyone who wants to try an outdoor photoperiod to try Frisian Dew. HOWEVER: I have waited months to upload the harvest pics because there really wasn’t anything fun to upload. Plants rotted to shit, one plant’s stem broke in the last week(s) and the total yield was +/- 15 grams of popcorn buds that were still immature. Very disappointing to say the least. Unfortunately even Frisian Dew wasn’t strong enough to hand my outdoor growing conditions without mold. I expected it to some degree. The smokable bud(lets) taste earthy, fresh, kinda menthol-y, and the tiniest bit skunky. I really like the taste, but the high isnt what you’d hope for due to the immaturity of the smokable buds. I had a BLAST growing these plants, and they’ve taught me a lot about the plant’s resilience, vigor, and preferred conditions. Still a shame. Thanks for checking in growmies, next one will be better

One of the 2 plants i had to trash because of meldew and budrot. The other also had some budrot. I still got a good amount of harvest overall. But I expected more from this strain regarding the resistance.

Update 25.11.2024: A first attempt at smoking in the vaporizer produced astonishing herbal-resinous scents and aromas. It is a balanced, gentle high. Good for listening to music, dancing, and feel-good activities. ------ The Frisian Dew is remarkably resistant to mold and pests. It definitely benefits from defoliation towards the end of the flowering period to avoid mold. The Frisian Dew in the garden was somewhat pushed to the side by the wind, which was not tragic, as it had much less thick flowers and was therefore also less prone to mold. The plant in the 75 l pot had developed into a giant that had to be tied up to avoid tipping over with the pot in the wind. Overall, there was some mold with this variety, but compared to the other varieties, it had the least. I had started 2 plants, one with thick flowers and buds and very productive, the other in the garden much slimmer and flowering later, but also more resistant. The harvest needs to be well planned, given the amount of harvest material that is produced. There should be space available. The size is disadvantageous in that mold can be overlooked in the upper buds and then spreads more easily. The raw trim is more labor-intensive compared to Durban Poison and Shaman, the buds are dried but firmer and more compact. Such a harvest amount is a multi-year supply.

Frisian Dew - plant #2 07.07.24 Flower Day 50 Frisian Dew - plant #1 09.07.24 Flower Day 52 Both Hermaphrodite :( - to be fair, it may be that the change in light cycle from flower week 5 on caused it. Till that point everything looked good, but in the end no one can say what was the cause. I realised there were bananas and male balls at the very end. :( Damage was not big. 3 months later I can say, there were only few seeds, maybe 15-20 all together. Plant #2: The one DP recommends to look for. Nice sweet and sour wild berries with sweet nutty, earthy undertone. Also sour smell and taste, similar to the Cheese when smoked but milder and more fruity. Plant #1: seems that it was meant to become a piney sativa-like plant with long colas and a flowering cycle of at least 9 weeks. What a pitty it built these bananas. Maybe because of pollination by the pther Frisian? Hahhaa. No one knows in the end. I grew this strain several times guierilla, and was always one the most reliable. Everyone who knows her does not need any extra info. Good hybrid effect, most phenos good for daytime smoke. Not too strong if you smoke not too much. There are great phenos from very vigorous and sticky green, more compact to very stretchy with pink, violet, to very dark and completely violet like the "Purple #1". Most of them have a sweet piney, herbal smell and taste. I like it very much, especially this sour-berry type, it is more on the sweet skunk side, but it get's a bit boring after a while. And I am honest, now there were too many hermis and so on. So I only rate it 7/10. Still very strong, but I would only recommend outdoors only and natural light only! Results are best this way. Then it deserves at least 9/10. :) Ciao.
