The week 6 update was a little late so week 7 is spread out between then and now in week 8.
After the mis-step with under watering and excessive heat the girls seem to have bounced back just fine. Vertical growth is at a snails pace and bud development is taking off. I noticed some intermittent brown spots on a few leaves and I think they are both Ca and K deficient (I think…). The light was at its lowest point and we are well into flower so it could be a combo of these impacts resulting in the spotting. I gave a quick mix of NPK Raw N, Ca/Mg, P, K, and kelp to try and stave off any further damage. These girls are due for a compost tea in next day or two so I’ll be putting that mix together later today.
It’s been pretty warm despite relocating my set ups to a cooler side of the house. I’ll be doubling up on fans to try and move cooler air into my grow room.
The girls are at the point where they will start packing on the bud weight, things are moving along fine at the moment. Fingers crossed I have fixed previous grow issues and the buds on these girls will fatten up nicely.
Thanks!!
They are getting there, I love the organic style of growing, but getting a new style dialed in has its challenges…each one better than the last I suppose. Thanks!!
I guess anything is possible, but from what I have seen it doesn’t seem to bother the plant at all. Some of the zkittlez plants I did previously had corkscrew leaves on new growth, they eventually straightened out. I’m hoping the same happens here, but if not, I’m not concerned. In general one bad leaf shouldn’t make or break this run. I hope. Thanks!!
Interesting re: the seeds. I have been reading on germinating wheat or barley seeds and killing them off as soon as they sprout by blitzing them in a blender. The solution apparently is rich in enzymatic activity and glucoses that ameliorate soil. Though I doubt that was the idea from your soil supplier.
Yeah man, this was a first for sure. Interesting thought you have, anything is plausible. The only other explanation I could come to was that a mouse got in there and started storing bird seed. Meh, whatever the cause, didn’t seem to cause an issue. It was a risk, but I had seeds ready to go and didn’t want to waste them.
Looking good and progressing very nicely !! Good luck with the grow !
Please feel free to check out/show love on some of my recent grows (Tropicana cookiez/Venom OG/Banana Mango )
Also… I have a lots of growing tips on my profile page (comments section)
