Introduction - Week 07 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 100868.38, All week, growth has been ramping up! Bottom watered early in the week. Also raised the light up a bit to lower the DLI. By the end of the week, top growth is still looking a bit lime in color, but overall looking perkier! Re-positioned the greenhouse to only cover EB2. Also bottom watered again. Wow! EB1 is crushing it! She's been bushing out with new top sites all week! At the current rate of growth, plan to defoliate next week. EB1 has definitely exploded with growth! She's already the width of the EarthBox. --- EB2 is also ramping up with growth! --- Refilled the humidifier with distilled water and Hydrogen Peroxide (~20mL). --- Did not need to spray the greenhouse. --- Depending on the reservoir and soil moisture, plan to water again tonight. - [16:04]: Evening my ladies! --- Removed the greenhouse. --- Wow growth is looking good! --- Still a bit lime around the leaf edges, but leaves are looking perky! --- Misted the top growth with a bit of distilled water. --- Also increasing the air exchange rate in the tent by increasing the idle speed. - [16:10]: Within the AC Infinity App, --- Adjusted the 'Vegetative [18/6]' Schedule for the exhaust fan. --- Increased the MIN level from 2 to 3 --- Before deciding dosages, going to check the soil moisture. - [16:17]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: --- 17% - [CH01 EB1 - grow bag] --- 27% - [CH02 EB1] --- 27% - [CH03 EB2 - grow bag] --- 27% - [CH04 EB2] --- Nice! Soil moisture is pretty even throughout both EarthBoxes. There is a slightly drier area around the grow bag of EB1. EB2 seems to be pretty even with the rest of the sensors. --- Now for the basic meter. - [16:27]: Using the soil moisture probe, took readings for each EarthBox. --- Soil moisture levels for EB1 was at 4.8 out of 10 --- Top soil looked pretty dry. --- Soil moisture levels for EB2 was at 8.1 out of 10 --- Top soil looked a lot more hydrated than EB1. --- Rotated both EarthBoxes 180 degrees. - [16:40]: Checked the reservoir for both EarthBoxes. --- Both were nice and dry! --- With the current soil moisture levels, decided to bottom water both. Also will top water EB1 a bit. - [16:54]: Took PPFD readings. --- EB1 was around 447 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 28.97 mol/m2/d --- EB2 was around 422 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 27.35 mol/m2/d --- With a PPFD goal of 400-500, decided to leave the current light levels as is. --- At the end of the week, may raise the grow light up a bit. Also will do height and distance checks. --- Okay time to top water! - [17:13]: Filled a measuring cup with 1cup of distilled water. --- Added 1/64tsp of: ------ Quillaja Saponaria Extract ------ Horticultural Aloe ------ Big 6 Micronutrients [+ Humic Acid] --- Added 1/32tsp of Recharge --- Added 1/16tsp of Pure Protein Dry [Organic Fish Aminos] --- Added 0.25mL of Bio-Catalyst Enzyme Elixer --- Added 0.75mL of Yah-Whey --- Mixed the solution and poured it straight into a spray bottle. --- Rotated both EarthBoxes back to the default configuration. - [17:33]: Misted both plants with the nutrient solution. --- Exactly 5 sprays to the top growth for EB1. --- Exactly 10 sprays to the grow bag of both EarthBoxes. --- Local RH is pretty dry so decided to use the greenhouse. --- Also misted the interior with distilled water. --- [30 minutes later] - [18:18]: Re-misted only EB1 with the nutrient solution. --- Exactly 15 sprays to the grow bag and sensor. --- [30 more minutes later] - [18:51]: Re-misted EB1 with the nutrient solution. --- Exactly 30 sprays to the grow bag and sensor. --- Adding the rest of the solution to the reservoir solution. --- Using paper towels, cleaned the over-mist from the top of both plastic mulch covers. --- Rotated both EarthBoxes 180 degrees. --- Okay! Time for another bottom watering! - [19:09]: Filled a pitcher with 6 cups of distilled water. --- Poured the solution from earlier into the pitcher --- Added 1/32tsp + 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract --- Added 1/8tsp + 1/16tsp of: ------ Mycrobe Complete --- Added 1.75mL of Bio-Catalyst Enzyme Elixer --- Added 4.5mL of Yah-Whey - [19:20]: Mixed the solution and poured 3 cups straight into EB2's fill tube. The rest was poured into EB1 (~3.75cups). --- Rotated both EarthBoxes back around. I don't want to remove the greenhouse b --- Refilled the humidifier with distilled water and Hydrogen Peroxide (~20mL). --- Did not need to spray the greenhouse. --- Hmm.. --- My main concern is the lime green color of the top growth. There also seems to be a bit of tip burn too. --- Is this light burn? --- Or a nutrient deficiency? --- Or improper watering? --- Or a bit of each? EB1 is just crushing it! --- Growth looks happy for both, but EB1 is easily double the size of EB2. --- RH outside the greenhouse is still way too low. --- Misted both plants with a bit of distilled water. - [16:10]: Took PPFD readings. --- EB1 was around 464 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 30.07 mol/m2/d --- EB2 was around 436 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 28.25 mol/m2/d - [16:14]: Decided to raise the light up a bit. --- Want to lower the PPFD to around 400 for EB2. --- Raised the light up a few inches. - [16:20]: Took new PPFD readings. --- EB2 was around 400 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 25.92 mol/m2/d --- EB1 was around 428 μmol/m2/s which gives a DLI of 27.73 mol/m2/d --- The FC-6500 is still drawing around 261.9W (at intensity 3 out of 10) --- Before watering, going to check the soil moisture. - [16:41]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: --- 20% - [CH01 EB1 - grow bag] --- 27% - [CH02 EB1] --- 31% - [CH03 EB2 - grow bag] --- 27% - [CH04 EB2] --- Soil moisture is drier around EB1's grow bag. Also sprayed the top of the mulch cover. --- Refilled the humidifier with distilled water and Hydrogen Peroxide (~20mL). --- Did not spray the greenhouse. Both reservoirs were nice and dry! - [19:27]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: --- 20% - [CH01 EB1 - grow bag] --- 28% - [CH02 EB1] --- 31% - [CH03 EB2 - grow bag] --- 30% - [CH04 EB2] --- Soil moisture is driest around EB1's grow bag. --- EB2's soil seems to be at pretty saturated. --- Not going to foliar feed. - [19:58]: Decided to bottom water both EarthBoxes. --- Filled a pitcher with 5 cups of distilled water. --- Then filled a measuring cup with 2 cups of distilled water. --- Added 1/32tsp + 1/64tsp + Half 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract --- Added 1/16tsp + 1/32tsp + 1/64tsp of: ------ Horticultural Aloe ------ Big 6 Micronutrients [+ Humic Acid] --- Added 1/8tsp + 1/16tsp + 1/32tsp of: ------ Mycrobe Complete ------ Recharge --- Added 1/4tsp + 1/8tsp + 1/16tsp of: ------ Pure Protein Dry [Organic Fish Aminos] --- Added 2mL of Bio-Catalyst Enzyme Elixer --- Added 5.25mL of Yah-Whey --- Mixed the solution and poured everything straight into the pitcher to mix with the 5 cups of distilled water from earlier (now 7 cups). - [20:25]: Mixed the solution again and poured 3 cups into EB2's fill tube. The rest of the solution was poured into EB1's fill tube (~4 cups). --- Rotated the EarthBoxes back. - [20:36]: Oops! Forgot to take light distance measurements! --- EB1 was about 16" away from the grow light. --- EB2 was about 20" away from the grow light. --- Refilled the humidifier with distilled water and Hydrogen Peroxide (~20mL). --- Did not spray the greenhouse. Simply placed it back onto EB2. --- Misted EB1 with a bit of distilled water. - [20:44]: Time for another board wipe! --- Resetting the whiteboard calendar for another 5 weeks! --- Wow what a week! --- Growth is continuing to ramp up! --- With about 2 more weeks left in veg, plan to start defoliating and training soon.
