Very satisfied with this brand. I've been using them for my entire growing experience. Honestly, I don't know if there is anything better. I haven't tried anything else. I do recommend to be careful with the grow and micro base nutrients during flower. I seem to get nitrogen toxicity in early flower.
First time using this stuff. It seems to have kept my soil alive. It was reused living soil with no amendments. Great stuff.

February 1, 2024 Harvest Day. Everyone is now harvested and Number 2 is an astonishing 110.5 oz, or 6.9 lbs or 3133 grams. My average plant dry weight is about 13.5% of the wet weight. However, I've never had such big and dense buds before. Not to mention the branches are twig thin, so those won't weigh much. The leaves are pretty abundant, so that may take away quite a bit of weight. However, as I said, the colas are absolutely enormous. My only concern is that I can't remove either trellis without damaging the plant. The lower trellis actually squeezed the whole plant in on itself. I'm not really sure what to do about that. I can't reach most of the leaves. Now it's because the plant is too low to the floor for me to reach. Hahaha! I'll keep the RH down to around 54% for the time being. When the leaves shrink a bit and space opens up, I'll try to bump it up to 58%. The issue I may run into is the RH of the lung room. It's cold and winter outside, so it's not very humid in there. The temp is fine, but the RH is pretty low for now. It may have taken super long for me, but I figured out a lot of why it took so long. Lighting, AND I found out even with night vision turned off, when lights go out, the red night vision lights come on anyway with my camera. This could be the cause of all the plants foxtailing. Especially the ones in the front right corner where the camera is mounted. Fixed. As a reminder, Number 1 was 22 oz wet weight and 2.2 oz dry. Gorilla Cookies: Total wet weight: 132.5 oz. Or 8.28 lbs or 3753.54 grams. Number 1: Dry Weight: 2.2 oz or 62.4 grams. Number 2: Estimated Dry Weight: 14.92 oz or 422.98 grams. Could be a bit more. February 2, 2024 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2: Day 1 Drying. She'll be getting a quarter turn every couple of days to promote even drying throughout the whole plant. No pictures today. I ended up putting the humidifier in the dry tent. I know it's not the best idea, but without it, the RH plummets to the high 40s. Currently it's at 54% and that's as much as I can do for it. I have another humidifier, but it's tiny and meant for my 2x2 tent. It also only holds 500 ml of water. So I'd be opening the tent up multiple times a day to refill it. Not good. I want this tent to stay closed as much as possible. Dry System Environment: Temp: 63.4° RH: 55.3% VPD: 0.86 kPa February 3, 2024 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2: Day 2 Drying I ended up attaching half of the ScrOG net back to the poles. It seems to help spread out part of the plant. The other half is still pretty compact. I'd put the net up, but the plant is offset and it ends up leaning against the wall it's facing. So I just have the back attached. It's kind of working. Anyway, the humidifier in the tent seems to be working perfectly. As long as I continue rotating the plant every couple of days, I shouldn't have any issues. Dry System Environment: Temp: 63.8° RH: 55.0% VPD: 0.85 kPa February 4, 2024 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2: Day 3 Drying Just filled the humidifier back up and tried to pull some of the branches free from the rest of the rats nest I call a plant. Lol. It's so tangled up and dense, I really can't do much about it. Not until I can cut it all up. I'll be rotating a half turn tomorrow. Based on my RH and Temp, I think she will be done around day 8 or 9. I doubt she will go for a full 10+ days. Maybe she will. As I said, it's really dense in there. But with the RH being slightly on the low side, I shouldn't run into any mold or mildew issues. Hopefully that is. So far everything looks pretty good. The environment is nearly spot on. The plant itself of drying at a good rate. Slow but not at a snails pace. If she goes over 10 days, I'll start to have concerns. I don't want to lose any yield. Anyway, that's all for now. Dry System Environment: Temp: 62.1° RH: 54.4% VPD: 0.85 kPa February 5, 2024 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2: Day 4 Drying Bad News Bears everyone. My Beasty hermied from all the light stress and I have a ton of seeds that are falling out into my catch trays. I have no idea what a seeded bud looks like apparently. And I can't tell what's seeded and what's not. I'll have to dissect everything and discover the errors of this fail. Where did it hermie? How many buds were pollinated? What signs should I look out for next time? Etc. I will update when she finishes drying. I'll definitely keep documenting as she goes through the rest of the process. I don't know what I'm going to do with all these seeds, but I guess I'll pop them and see what happens. However, there's definitely a whole lot more seeds. Possibly hundreds. If not close to 1,000. Maybe I'll sprinkle them in my back yard. Hahahaha. I'd get chewed out so bad for that. Lol. Anyway, I also weighed her up to see how much weight she has lost. In 4 days she has lost half of her weight. Now 51.4 oz. Still very wet though. I think she'll need 5 or 6 more days. I don't know how much more weight the seeds put on, so my original weight is skewed. The dry weight will also be skewed as well. Unless there aren't that many seeds. I doubt it though. Oh well. Still a lot of weed. Lol. Anyway, I think it came from the back of the plant where I couldn't reach or see. There's no where else I would have missed. I think. I'll just have to find where when it's done drying. Dry System Environment: Temp: 61.8° RH: 54.6% VPD: 0.83 kPa February 6, 2024 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2 Day 5 Drying I'm having a small issue with RH today. It's stuck around 53%. I'd like it to be above 55% now that the plant is about half done. I'll try to increase the humidity up to 58% by the time drying is done. As for the seeding issue, I'm pretty sure it's only a small part of the plant. Hopefully it actually was isolated in the back somewhere. I definitely won't know until I start trimming. Before I weigh the total yield, I'll do my best to clear out as many seeds as possible before hand. Quick Update: I decided to turn up the humidifier. Not much. Just enough though. Now the RH is sitting around 56%. Perfect. AND the temp is at a flat 60°. Also perfect. I rotated her as well. I think I'll have to rotate her daily because of the extra mist from the humidifier. I've also slightly increased the exhaust fan speed by one point. And it's pulling out the air quite nicely. Not too fast though. Just enough to get the extra humidity out. I'm really surprised at how well dialed in it is. Very satisfied. I will however be keeping an eye on it for any weird fluctuations. Oh, and there is a range the RH runs. When the heat kicks on, it drops a point or two. But for the most part it's right on point. A Lesson Learned: During this grow, I didn't discover the hermie issues until half way through drying. Seeds galore. So after some research, I discovered that seeded plants take longer to mature. That makes total sense now. This plant took a total of 20 weeks from seed to harvest. And she is an autoflower. Double the time it should have taken. I think I understand why the flowering stage took nearly 11 weeks. The plant must have hermied at the very beginning of the light stress issues. Which was during the stretch. Or a little bit after. That caused the plant to take so long it hermied early and due to my lack of access to much of the plant, I missed any signs of nanners or balls. So the lesson here is to try to do a better job inspecting the whole plant and of course remove any male parts immediately. Dry System Environment: Temp: 62.2° RH: 53.6% VPD: 0.86 kPa February 7, 2024 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2: Day 6 Drying I gave her a nice little turn this morning. She also didn't drop many seeds. Hopefully that means the majority have dropped. I know there will be tons in the buds, but I can only hope it's just a few of them. As I said before. We shall see. The environment hasn't changed at all. It's been the most stable I've ever had it. Very nice. I also tried to open the canopy up a bit by pushing my hand in and turning it flat so to not disturb the trichomes too much. Other than that, I had to fill the humidifier. Dry System Environment: Temp: 61.5° RH: 55.5% VPD: 0.80 kPa PERFECT February 8, 2023 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2: Day 7 Drying Filled the humidifier up and rotated her a quarter turn. I'd like to discuss the seeds and weight. I assume the seeds add some weight to the plant. The question is how much. So far I've collected 100 seeds from the catch trays and those weight around 1.4 grams. Based on how many seeds have dropped so far, I can only assume there will be significantly more in the buds. That being said, I wonder how many seeds there will be and how much will they weigh. I'm hoping for only 200 more. I figure double the fallen seeds makes sense as long as the whole plant wasn't seeded. Then there may be thousands, and I will lose a ton of yield. However, I don't think so. I've gently shaken the plant and found the seeds came from one spot. I can't find it though. I'm not turning the lights on, so I'll have to wait the next 3 to 4 days. At least that's what I think she will need. I did weigh her up today at 38 oz. So far that's a 64.6% drop in weight. But still a lot of weight. I estimate another 10% to 15% drop before harvest. Then about 50% of that should be smokable flower. So no matter what I do, the math shows between 14.5 oz and 16.5 oz final yield. Whole plant 110.5 oz minus the average dry yield of 13.5% is 14.9 oz Current weight 38 oz minus another 20% for the next 4 days, if not slightly less, minus 50% to dry yield is 15.2%. Based on extra density and size compared to my second largest plant, I can only assume the percentage will be higher. If I add 20% to the 13.5% I end up with 16.2%. That ends at 17.9 oz. Then I remove 10% for marginal error and end up with 16.1 oz. Lots of formulas. That was long winded, but the math needed to be explained. Mostly for my records. For now, this is all speculation. Hell, I could end up only getting 11% yield or end up with 17.5%. who knows. I'll record the results of course and add them to my averages. Dry System Environment: Temp: 62.0° RH: 56.5% VPD: 0.80 kPa PERFECT MAJOR UPDATE: I forgot the SCroG net had weight to it. That weighs 2.08 oz so in reality, the plant weighs 108.42 oz. So my math is skewed a bit. It should be around 14 oz to 16 oz dried and trimmed. Even a possibility of 17 oz. February 9, 2024 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2: Day 8 Drying Plenty of a to do today. She has but a few days left. I ordered a moisture meter yesterday. It will be here tomorrow. Just in time. She got a quarter turn and the humidifier a refill. I had one branch snap today. But that was it. I think what I'll do is pull a branch at a time with buds that are dried. That way I can take my time trimming. I'll be able to start curing at the perfect moisture level for each bud. I believe the outer branches will be done tomorrow and the center branches taking a couple more days. Anyway, the moisture meter will tell me if I'm right or not. I conducted snap tests on the outside and inside of the plant. Still a tiny bit of bend, but no snap yet. Especially in the center. But very close. I did find one branch that snapped, but just the one. I may check back and see if I should actually trim it up and bag it. I'm pretty sure there's some pretty big buds on that branch. I also took a new weight. The she is 35.5 oz. Still pretty heavy. So far that is 32% weight retention. She definitely won't lose much more. Maybe an oz, but I doubt it. I'm not really sure how much yield that will bring, but I'm pretty sure it's still within my calculations. I feel like after the plant has completely dried, there will be around 50% yield. So around 15 to 16 oz. However, I haven't checked dry whole plant yet, so I'm very interested to see the results. If it's actually a 50% different from whole try to trimmed and bagged, the yield would be and astonishing 17.75 oz. However I believe it will be a bit less. For a conservative number, I'm basing on 40% dry yield. That would be 14.2 oz. So it's kind of up in the air for now. Dry System Environment: Temp: 62.5° RH: 56.9% VPD: 0.81 kPa It's a bit warm today and the tent is up to 65°. The RH is still perfect, but I need to find a way to drop the temp back down to 62°. I'm sure it will adjust back down in a couple of hours. February 10, 2024 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2: Day 9 Drying Another ounce lost. She's just about done if not already done in some spots. I'm waiting for my moisture meter to get here then I'll check. Hopefully I'll be trimming tomorrow or the next day. I'll be ordering a rosin press in the next couple of weeks. If not this week. It all depends on what I want to do for soil. Reuse the current soil one last time or buy new soil and hold off on the press. I have a ton of soil, but it's used. However, I did grow this lady from used soil and my soil is always kept in a big lidded bin. Maybe I will reuse the soil and get the press. Next run I'll get new soil maybe. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter? It's one or the other this week. Or soil this week and press in 2 months. I think the press this week makes sense as I already have soil. Plus, the Beast has a whole lot of larf for pressing. Dry System Environment: Temp: 64.6° RH: 57.9% VPD: 0.85 kPa It's been warm out for the last couple of days and for some reason the central heat is still kicking on. I turned the AC on in my room to help drop the temp back down. The humidity is fine. The VPD could be a bit lower, but that will come with the temp drop. February 11, 2024 Gorilla Cookies: Number 2: Day 10 Drying Some of the lower branches with the wispy loose buds and larf snapped. So they got trimmed and bagged. My moisture meter was delayed and should be here today. I'll be using that for the larger buds. I now have the Temp at 60° and the RH is around 58%. Somehow, it had dropped down to 53% overnight. I turned the Humidifier up one notch. Brought it right up. Also, these smaller lower branches didn't have any seeds. So far so good. I'm really thinking it was an isolated area. I feel, because there is so much bud, if the whole plant got seeded, there would have been well over the 100 seeds that dropped. There will definitely be more, but only in some of the buds. So the rest of the plant should be good. I'll be slowly pulling outer branches and trimming them up over the next day or 2. Unless of course the meter shows I can trim the whole plant. I don't think so though. Update: My moisture meter came in finally. Perfect dryness. I'll be trimming for the rest of the day. Final yield to come. Dry System Environment: Temp: 62.7° RH: 55.9% VPD: 0.83 kPa February 12, 2024 Day 2 of trimming! There's so much weeeeeeeeeeeed! Moving into day 3 of trimming. Will check back tomorrow when I finish up with final yield. February 13, 2024 Day 3 trimming. Finally done! With a whopping 595 grams. Adding the other plant and we are at 654 grams total dry trimmed yield! Absolutely amazing! February 22, 2024 Quick Update: I bought a rosin press. A small one to start with. It works pretty well. Company called Dulytek. Seems they have all you need for a reasonable price. Anyway, pretty happy with it for my first press. I'll probably upgrade in a few months once I get the hang of it.

Did I over water this plant? The other 5 are perfectly fine. Just this one. I may have over watered during the transplant. I'm not sure. Just plain distilled water. Same soil across the board for all plants. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

lokos to be a fiar amount of perlite in your soil. overwatering is easy to avoid with simple good habits when watering. water until entire pot is wet. a little runoff ensures this, but not always necessary. wait for top 1" to dry and repeat. how often you fertilize depends on several factors and preferences. the more often you fertilize the less concentrated it sould be, and vice versa for longer periods of time between fertilization. so, if it is ever droopy after these types of irrigation habits, it's the drainagae quality of your substrate that is the cause of any droopiness or water-related issues. 50/50 is a good mix of perlite to soil. stick in that range and you should never see 'overwatering' while stickign to the above standard operating procedure. if you swithc to coco, only need 30% perlite (or similar drainage amendment) if you stick to those ratios fo substrate:drainage amendment, it is impossible to overwater. you might over or under fertilize, but it won't be from too much or too little watering. don't ever tell your self "it's all the same" because it isnt each plant is different gentics and potential different reaction to whatever is in the soil... that soil is not 100% homogenous either. always observe and react... cause and effect... feeling it's all the same is irrelevant and tends to interject personal biases into diagnosing problems. regardless, something specific is happening to the plant you observed looking odd. that's all that matters.. identifying and reacting properly. allow a bit more development before transplant for a rootball that is more robust. when you distrub the rootball that is usually the cause of any transplant shock.. not watering it.. you should always water after a transplant to help settle the substrate around it.. make sure you don't have to fill in any chasms if the form. time your transplants as best you can so it isn't 2 irrigations with very little time between. you don't want it to be as dry as a typical wet-dry cycle, so that the substrate will hold together better with enough moisture in it. deviating 1 time from that normal wet-dry cycle (waiting for top 1" to dry before next), is not the end of the world. but don't make a habit of it. also, in a small seedling tray or starter cup etc, you want to irrigate a bit sooner than 1" deep. in general it's anon issue, because by teh time you have to irrigate a recently planted seed, it's got a tap root all the way to bottom of small starter pots. allowing top to dry reduces risks of pathogens and pests. it keeps a good o2 ratio in soil for roots. it promotes deper roots vs superficial roots that are less effective. this simple method of irrigating provides numerous benefits. remember, you don't pick the volume of water needed... that is a recipe for fucking up substrate equilibrium. feel weight of pot when it is time to irrigate. this can be used as a trigger too. If you water at same weight loss, it requires the same volume of water as before. so, you can dial it in and reduce wasted water.

Autos do have a short life span and I noticed my plants lower leaves did this when I saw nothing else wrong with them. I plucked the leaves and continued watching and checking runoff ppms and ph. I grew in coco so ph wasn't my issue I was worried about ppms. Always follow the 10-20% water runoff rule. And make sure they are not 300ppm or more above your input ppms or your over feeding. Or 200ppms or more "less" then your input ppms. Or your under feeding. Environment plays a role so Google a good vpd chart, I use pulse vpd chart. Make sire your in the correct zone for your current stage of growth! I see nothing wrong but lower leaves dying off due to short life span, although a runoff check will tell you if you're deficient or toxic and then we can go from there! Please consider me as the answer to the question so I have a chance to win grower of the month contest 🙏 please and thank you 😊

My 2x2 is starting to crowd. This is driving the RH to over 70%. Should I defoliate to help with crowding and RH? Or should I just leave it alone? RH in lung room is 48% Exhaust fan, high or low with a dehumidifier, doesn't work. What should I do? Defoliate? Thanks! Check diary.

Defoliation can certainly help. Less leaves = less transpiration. Are you keeping your soil really wet? If so water less. Lowering the space temperature will slow down the transpiration rate and will decrease humidity. Not sure what you are using for extraction fan, but it might be wise to just run it constantly, or get a bigger fan that can move that humidity out quickly and keep it in check. Keeping the tent open will certainly lower the humidity, but you'll waste light and release all of the environment. So to recap, Defoliate 50% of your leaves, yes Lower environment temperature (decreases transpiration rate) Don't saturate your soil or leave any water laying around (a big full root zone needs saturation, but if your plants go 4 or more days without watering then reduce your water volume) Invest in a bigger extraction fan

I'm using the AC Infinity SELF-WATERING FABRIC POT BASE. I don't top feed, so does anyone know if I should let the reservoir dry out? Or, because it's a form of hydroponics, do I make sure to keep water in there all the times? Also, should I keep the nutrients constant? Thanks!

In a bottom-feed watering system like the AC Infinity SELF-WATERING FABRIC POT BASE, it's generally beneficial to maintain a consistent moisture level rather than letting the reservoir completely dry out. Here's why: Continuous Moisture: Plants often prefer consistent moisture, and allowing the reservoir to dry out completely may stress the plants. Consistent moisture ensures that plants have access to water and nutrients when needed. Hydroponic-Like System: While it's not a traditional hydroponic system, bottom-feed systems share some characteristics. Maintaining a consistent water level helps provide stability in nutrient availability to the plants. Preventing Stress: Allowing the reservoir to dry out completely can lead to stress for the plants. Inconsistent watering can result in fluctuations in nutrient availability, potentially impacting plant health and growth. Nutrient Consistency: Keeping nutrient levels relatively consistent is advisable. Fluctuations in nutrient concentration can lead to nutrient imbalances, affecting plant development. Regularly monitoring and adjusting nutrient levels based on plant growth stages is a good practice. While maintaining a consistent moisture level is generally beneficial, it's crucial not to overwater. Overwatering can lead to oxygen deprivation in the root zone, potentially causing root issues. Finding the right balance and adjusting based on the specific needs of your plants is key to a successful bottom-feed watering system. Regularly monitoring plant health, nutrient levels, and moisture content will guide your watering practices.

The feeding system your running is probably more efficient on the smaller containers. Add to it the roots have to push to find water then it would be easier in the smaller container. Thus meaning the smaller ones found water first and had a easier time. If I had to guess the bigger ones will catch up, and surpass the smaller ones. Although this is my assumption, I'm not accounting for the phenos. Every strain has multiple phenos. You may plant 10 seeds and have 10 different looking plants. Better breeders get this dialed in, and the phenos are less sporadic. 10 seeds might give you 2 or 3 phenos instead of 10.. Now. With this said I would guess it's the smaller containers allowed the plants to have a steady supply of nutes quicker, if it's not a odd pehno... if so the bigger potted ones should catch up and surpass the little ones. Goodluck. Please consider selecting me as the answer so I can be entered for a chance to win grower of the month contest I would really appreciate your support growmie 😃 🙏

How much if any foliage or stray branches should I remove from the bottom of this plant? She's super healthy so I don't think it will be an issue with stress, but I don't want any undue stress. Should I just leave it? I'd like to avoid popcorn buds all together.

Lower 3rd is a general rule of thumb. I find the best practise is to keep your plant profile low through trellis nets and scrogging them (Screen of Green). I don't understand why people waste time and energy growing a plant 4 feet tall just to have to butcher the lower 3rd to half of the plant. Why did you waste the time and nutrients is what i ask myself? Why not trellis your plant and fill the net 3/4 with tops, then flip to 12/12, and tuck the first week, then allow everything to stretch up, then defoliate and watch your yield be epic, with little plant wasted.

My largest plant just started to flower and is already 9" from the light which is at the top of the tent. It's a 240 watt light board from AC Infinity. I have it set to 60% power. Should I leave it there or should I dial it down? No signs of stress yet. Other plants are shorter.

Hst the big plant and raise any still lower to equalize canopy across room. I see fox tails being a issue for you in about 6 weeks from light hot spot on plant. Best plan to start avoiding it now.

A few of the lowest auxiliary branches on my Gorilla Cookies are not getting enough attention from the plant. Should I remove them? Or should I leave them because of being in week 4 of flower? Take a look at my diary to see the plant and then these pics. Sideways pics? Weird.

Your describing a process known as Lolipopping. its good to do on lower bud sites that will not get the same exposure "light and air" as the top buds sites. I've done this on grows where I've used SCROG net and it worked out well. Good Luck!

Got bud rot. So I removed all of it. Should I harvest or wait a couple days to see what the plant does? It was a lot of bud rot. All of one side and most of the bottom of the canopy. Lost a few branches. Sideways pics? Again?

I am sorry my friend but this plant is infected from the inside. Smoking it will cause harm for your health. Better luck next time buddy!

What are the benefits and consequences of defoliating a week before harvest? Is it good or bad? I have tons of foliage up top and need it to go away. It's too late in flower, but a week before will open up the canopy to the lower bud sites. Any and all help is welcome. Thanks!

Haha, love the Cristmas vibe! No there is no need for an aditional defoliation. This will only cause stress and decrease yield! Enjoy your harvest next week buddy! 💚

In regards to a grow question about bottom feeding, I wanted to explain what I know and what I don't know about the bottom feed wicking system I have specifically with autoflowers. For starters the system works best when the 1 gallon reservoir needs to be refilled every couple of days or less. This is usually at the start of flowering when the roots have reached the bottom of the fabric container. No need to worry about the standing water. It'll be gone before anything has a chance to populate it. As for an autoflowers early life, I believe there is a difference here with photos and autos. Photos are generally in veg longer than autos, which means top feeding is a very short venture with autos. I have found that 14 to 20 days of top watering is sufficient. But not a full watering. Just enough to make sure the young plant gets what it needs. The final top watering before the bottom feed is about 1 gallon to 1.5 gallons. This is in both 3 and 5 gallon fabric containers with living soil and not coco. That could be different. It could also be a bit later or earlier based on what the plant wants. As for the bottom watering system, I prime the containers around week 3 by filling the reservoir with a half gallon of water and letting it soak into the soil. It takes about 20 minutes, but works well in the end. By doing this, the water from the bottom will meet up with the watering from the early top feed and by the time they connect the plant is ready for the wicking system. It's like prep work. As for what to expect during the grow, your roots will grow into the wicks. When this happens, I don't recommend lifting the plant from its base. This is where the fill up comes into play. I like to use a one gallon water jug to fill the reservoir. If I had a spout, I think it would be easier. Nothing pressured. Pour the water slowly to help with spillage. I also mix the nutrients right in the water jug. Makes it easier to fill up with an exact gallon. I haven't had much of an issue with salt build up, but I only use a 1/4 to a half dose. I wondered if I should let it dry out, but no. Instead, I use a lower dose of constant nutrients and keep the reservoir from drying out. Clean it every couple weeks and it should be good. A little trick I thought of in hindsight. Cut your wicks a little bit longer so you can make a loose knot to hold them in place. Make sure they are long enough to touch bottom. If I think of anything else I'll add it too. Any questions, please ask.

So this is what AC Infinity says about their Bottom Feed Wicking System. Please refill the basin whenever the water meter reads empty. It is recommended to clean and refill the basin every two weeks to prevent unwanted buildup and further protect against interlocking roots and wick lines. It's best to keep an eye on the meter for the low water reads.
