Welcome to another ridiculously detailed grow by Louder! If you've followed any of my diaries in the last 2 years, you'll see some familiar faces.
King's Tart was so good I had to grow it again, hopefully mistake free. 10th Planet I've ran twice and Banana Daddy once. 10P has been very consistent in quality no matter what I've done. BD was slow growing and low yielding last time so I'm really hoping to get a big improvement here.
We've got our cheat sheets and looking to smash previous yields. As always, there will be an absolutely shocking amount of notes with lots of updates! So let's get into it!!

***GERMINATION WEEK ENDS***
______________________________
SEEDLING WEEK 1 (SEPT 16-22)
Because GD doesn't have a block of time dedicated to seedlings, I'm extending the "germination" week. Without sets of true leaves, the plants aren't IN the vegetation stage yet. Once there's one set of true leaves, I'll start the fertigation schedule. When there's 5-7 sets of true leaves, the seedling period ends and the plant enters vegetation WEEK 1.
TARGETS:
• 22-25C ✅
• 65-75% ❌ (High fluctuations 80+)
• 0.42-0.72 VPD 🆗
• 1.0 EC / 6.0 pH ❌ (0.9)

The single serrated leaves are getting bigger every day. Vibrant green colour, straight and sturdy stems on all. Humidity is a bit on the high side at night but it's better than being too dry at this stage.
The seedlings are mostly taking water in through the leaves so we don't want to drown the fragile tap root with water. OXYGEN is more important to get roots growing quickly.

2nd set of leaves are showing! The pots were light so I watered them all. Wanted some runoff just to see where the substrate is at. They haven't been fully saturated since the coco was buffered. I'd like to see the pH a bit higher but that's super easy to correct this early.
I usually keep the fertilizing to a bare minimum at this stage but this time we're trying the @FrontRowAG_BrianG method of EC stacking right from the jump. If I have the logic correct, this involves starting out at a relatively high (but safe) EC and allowing the plant to get accustomed to high doses of nutrients earlier on in veg. The goal is to reach 1.8 EC by week 4. Provided the VPD is in check, this allows you to push the EC while it's in bloom to produce bigger yields. Go look at his diaries if you're skeptical.
Going forward, I won't be getting much in terms of runoff (if any) and using scheduled flushes at the end of VEG, end of week 2 FLR and end of week 5 FLR. We're flushing for 2 weeks at the end (week 8/9).

• Humidity too low during lights on
It's been rough getting the VPD right lately. If I take the dome off, humidity plummets to 50%. If I leave it on, it skyrockets to near 90%. That being said, the seedlings look great.
The pots are maybe halfway dry from the first fertilizing event so I'll give it another day or so before watering again. Only issue is 10P6 has a bit of a yellow leaf tip.

This is day 12 of the seedling period. Still having an issue with low humidity...I'd like to keep a fan running to get the stems strengthened up but that erases the humidity I need.
The second watering came with the pots about 50% dry. All are producing similar runoff values for now.
4 of 6 seedlings are looking pretty good with BD5 and KT4 looking the best. 10ths aren't doing as well. One needs to propped up or it will slump over sideways. They both have some yellowing crispy leaf edges as well. so maybe they can't handle what the others can.
I'm a bit paranoid about spider mites and wpm this time of year, and at this early stage when they're so vulnerable. Just ordered an LED magnifier to confirm there isn't anything fucked going on.
___________
Sept 28
10ths are looking super weird. Slow and mutated growth, weak stems...nothing like I've seen out of the (now empty) 10 pack. The others have been given the exact same treatment and look totally fine.
Don't think I'll waste much more time on them. There's something very special coming anyway 😉

There's at least 3 sets of true leaves now so I'm going to end the seedling stage and begin the vegetation stage. Getting some better VPD numbers last few days and the growth is showing.
I did see a fungus gnat fly into the bottom of a pot so I fogged the room out with DE powder. So fucking tired of seeing these assholes. I'm positive they're from houseplants upstairs and from outside. I'd like to start buffering coco for transplanting but I'm worried the wet substrate will attract more of these dickheads.
You planted awesome genetics for real!!
GHSC and Ethos are the bests seedbanks

@gottagrowsometime, Thank you man. I had a great pheno out of 3 KTs last round...sadly didn't take any cuts. I don't think I got it this time because the keeper grew taller than these. Been running Ethos mostly for the last few grows and they've been impressive. Highly recommend
See the game last night, kicked some Boston butt all over the ice😀. Good goal tending and some hungry players, go # 13, GO JETS GO!!!! Going all the way this year!!!! UNSTOPPABLE!!
Plants look great 👌, should have some good herb in a few weeks. Finally got two coats of paint in the basement, suspended ceiling goes up next, then flooring and I'll be able to set-up my tent. Had to make a trip to the pot store, first time in a long time that I had to buy some herb, it's not the same, not even close 😑... GOTTA GROW!!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
@Louder, Variety is the spice of life they say, so we'll mix it up a bit and see what happens, Lambs breath and Orange cake for sure, we'll see about the others when the time comes. Can't Wait!!
@Louder, Wheeler must be wondering WTF happened to this team😵, someone lit their JETS!! Let's hope they can keep it up..
Ordered a bunch of auto's from the Crop King, started my first grow with the King so I thought I'd try agin, plus they had a two for one sale so I loaded up. I have some Lamb's Breath, close to being my favourite and some new strains, Acapulco Gold, Hippie Crippler, Orange cake and I got a freebie package of 5 seeds, Kryptonite auto from Rocket seeds. There all sativa dominant strains except the Orange cake which is an Indica dominant strain that's supposed to grow big, sugar coated buds with a very citrus flavour and smell, so we'll see. I should be posting soon, just have to figure out which ones I grow first, TOUGH CHOICE😏, Lamb's Breath for sure!!
Smok'em if you got'em!!
@FrontRowAG_BrianG, should be a sight to see come January. Predicting a ton of purple. I've got pics of all of them in past diaries if you literally can't wait 😆
@RoidBlaze, I know it looks alarming, and that could be part of it, but the other 5/6 plants are thriving. It's just the one King's Tart and they all get the same treatment.
She's the closest to the fresh air intake (which is cold) and the oscillating fan so maybe it's that.
I'm going to flush anyway but I've had runoffs that error out the meter before with no hermies.
