VEGETATION WEEK 7 (Nov 12-18) ------------------------------------------------- __________ Nov 12 🌡️- 79.3F ✅ (Brief spike from furnace) ❄️ - 69.1F ✅ 🌧️ - 62.5% ✅ ☁️ - 53.1% 🆗 📈 - 1.60 kPa (brief spike with high temp) 📉 - 0.93 kPa ✅ 📊 - 1.19 kPa ✅ Mix: 12ml Silica, 20ml CaMg, 20ml A, 20ml B : 10L water = 2.4 EC + 3L = 2.0 EC • 2L each @ 5.8 pH • Transplanted KT5 & BD5 • Cut 2x BD4, 10P6, 10P7 clones • Pruned inner growth tips and 2nd node growth on secondary branches All the girls are potted up to their final containers. I knocked off all the old coco from the roots and sprinkled Myco in the planting holes. I put stakes into most of them, but the lights are too low to do them all. Humidity is coming up now that there's 30 gallons of substrate in the room. VPD is closer to the target range of 0.8-1.2 kPa. ___________ Nov 13 (4L) Mix: 18ml CaMg, 20ml A, 20ml B, 12ml B52 : 12L water = 2.6 EC+ 3L water = 2.0 EC / 5.8 pH Since there's a lot of new substrate, I wanted to give them all a good soak to bring the EC and pH closer to base. One gallon each produced a good amount of runoff. Happy to report that all containers are 2.1 EC or less and the pH is sitting pretty at 5.9-6.0. Some had EC as low as 1.6 so they are feeding heavily right now. I did a good amount of pruning on the lower third and bent everything down again. The canopy is nice and level right now so I'll let it grow up for the week and tie down again at the end. I'll likely turn on the 2nd lamp next week and space them out. With the transplanting, partial flush and pruning all done within 2-3 days, they will need some time to bounce back. The KTs are pissed but they'll get over it. We're doing a 60 day vegetation period to get these plants as big as possible before flipping to bloom. Growing them as wide and as low as I can, slowly tying big branches down, and then tying the secondary branches down as they shoot up. I'll keep the same feeding schedule as last time (maybe higher EC) but there's a few things I'll be doing differently: 1- All pruning and defoliating done one week before bloom. 2- Start bloom nutrients on day 1 of bloom (instead of veg nutes for the first week) 3- HPS bulbs in on day 1 of bloom (instead of Metal Halide for the first two weeks) 4- LST for week 1, spread out wide, then allow stretch 5- Defoliation at day 21 (none after) I've done all of these things before, just not all at the same time. Looking at past results, these were things that worked well. I've been trying to avoid letting the plants get tall, but my best yields came from plants that stretched like crazy. Adding these things to my current techniques, a better understanding of EC and NER, plus more control over VPD, I'm really hoping for 200-300g/plant here. I don't even think that's unreasonable with these genetics, as I've pulled 235 g from 10th Planet before. _________ Nov 14 • No water • Leaf temp of front left plant is 84F • Others are 78-80F • Raised lamp to 24" 🌡️- 77.2F ✅ ❄️ - 69.8F ✅ 🌧️ - 67.9% ✅ ☁️ - 58.9% ✅ 📈 - 1.29 kPa ✅ 📉 - 0.85 kPa ✅ 📊 - 1.11 kPa ✅ Great improvement in the environment and VPD. Trying to keep this going for the next 10 days or so. The highest VPD values are during the last 3 hours of the light cycle. This is when the temperature is at its highest and the humidity at its lowest. To compensate, I've been dimming the lamp to 50% to drop the temperature. _________ Nov 15 • No water 🌡️- 76.6F ✅ ❄️ - 66.2F ✅ 🌧️ - 63% ✅ ☁️ - 54.4% ✅ 📈 - 1.41 kPa ⬇️ 📉 - 0.83 kPa ✅ 📊 - 73.5F / 59.6% / 1.15 kPa ✅ ______________ Nov 16 (3L) Mix: 24ml CaMg, 24ml A, 24ml B, 20ml B52, 20ml PB Tea: 5 gallons water = 2.0 EC / 6.0 pH 10P6 IN: 2.0 EC/6.0 pH (19c) OUT: 3.6 EC/6.0 pH (20c) 10P7 IN: 2.0 EC/6.0 pH (19c) OUT: 2.9 EC/6.3 pH (20c) BD4 IN: 2.0 EC/6.0 pH (19c) OUT: 3.1 EC/6.2 pH (20c) BD5 IN: 2.0 EC/6.0 pH (19c) OUT: 2.3 EC/6.2 pH (20c) KT4 IN: 2.0 EC/6.0 pH (19c) OUT: 2.7 EC/6.3 pH (21c) KT5 IN: 2.0 EC/6.0 pH (19c) OUT: 2.8 EC/6.3 pH (21c) • Turned on 2nd lamp • Spaced plants out Runoffs are high for my tastes so I'm giving them a light flush with Silica and CaMg tomorrow. Two days without water and the EC has spiked big time. Temperatures are supposed to start dropping so I figured turning the 2nd lamp on won't hurt. Had to be done eventually and the girls have some elbow room now. This creates some extra heat so humidity will be a challenge once again. ____________ Nov 17 (2-3L) Mix: 20ml Silica, 20ml CaMg: 4 gallons water = 1.0 EC/5.7 pH • Runoffs between 2.1-2.3 EC 🌡️- 80.1F ✅ ❄️ - 66.2F ⬆️ 🌧️ - 62.9% ✅ ☁️ - 51.1% 🆗 📈 - 1.7 kPa ❌ 📉 - 0.84 kPa ✅ 📊 - 76.7F ✅ / 55.6% ⬆️ / 1.41 kPa ❌ Much more comfortable with the runoff values. I'd like to be within 0.5 EC from base so this will do just fine. There's no signs of nute burn so once these dry out in a few days I'll up the dosage to 2.2 EC. By the time we get to day 60 I want to be feeding at 2.4 EC, which is basically "full strength" with the bottle nutes I'm using. VPD is way out of range for the lights on period. I don't know how I'm going to fix it without actually buying a humidifier. The lamps aren't even at 100% yet and it's flattening the humidity. _______________ Nov 18 (3/4L) • Used up yesterday's mix • Low humidity at night (both lamps on 60%, intake on)

@gottagrowsometime, Thank you man. I had a great pheno out of 3 KTs last round...sadly didn't take any cuts. I don't think I got it this time because the keeper grew taller than these. Been running Ethos mostly for the last few grows and they've been impressive. Highly recommend

See the game last night, kicked some Boston butt all over the ice😀. Good goal tending and some hungry players, go # 13, GO JETS GO!!!! Going all the way this year!!!! UNSTOPPABLE!! Plants look great 👌, should have some good herb in a few weeks. Finally got two coats of paint in the basement, suspended ceiling goes up next, then flooring and I'll be able to set-up my tent. Had to make a trip to the pot store, first time in a long time that I had to buy some herb, it's not the same, not even close 😑... GOTTA GROW!!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.

@Louder, Variety is the spice of life they say, so we'll mix it up a bit and see what happens, Lambs breath and Orange cake for sure, we'll see about the others when the time comes. Can't Wait!!

@northernMike, some nice selections to choose from! Love the sound of that orange cake. Gonna be a good year, I can SMELL IT!!

@Louder, Wheeler must be wondering WTF happened to this team😵, someone lit their JETS!! Let's hope they can keep it up.. Ordered a bunch of auto's from the Crop King, started my first grow with the King so I thought I'd try agin, plus they had a two for one sale so I loaded up. I have some Lamb's Breath, close to being my favourite and some new strains, Acapulco Gold, Hippie Crippler, Orange cake and I got a freebie package of 5 seeds, Kryptonite auto from Rocket seeds. There all sativa dominant strains except the Orange cake which is an Indica dominant strain that's supposed to grow big, sugar coated buds with a very citrus flavour and smell, so we'll see. I should be posting soon, just have to figure out which ones I grow first, TOUGH CHOICE😏, Lamb's Breath for sure!! Smok'em if you got'em!!

Looks awesome! Shame about the possible Hermie
Louder
Loudercommenteda year ago
@RoidBlaze, I know it looks alarming, and that could be part of it, but the other 5/6 plants are thriving. It's just the one King's Tart and they all get the same treatment. She's the closest to the fresh air intake (which is cold) and the oscillating fan so maybe it's that. I'm going to flush anyway but I've had runoffs that error out the meter before with no hermies.
RoidBlaze
RoidBlazecommenteda year ago
@Louder, just read the run offs then and they are insanely high... thinking lockout caused it?
Louder
Loudercommenteda year ago
@RoidBlaze, Thanks, yeah, it's a head scratcher. Trying to make sense of it through the latest runoffs
