Me so tired! Here's Week 5 of Bloom w/ Granddaddy Bruce. The Deets!: The Good: -Had a very positive week with GDPB. She was a bit behind but caught up quite a bit after some adjustments to my feeding schedule and w/ a higher EC feeding to match her needs. The half dosing was working very, very well and got her out of the woods, but I'm easing them back into these heavier feeds in order to optimize my quality and quantity. So far so good👍 -Completed a light nutrient flush to see where she's at and all is well. PPM's and pH are both in check and she is holding/taking what is being given. Happy and healthy, no issues or burns, just exponential growth again. I AM starting to see the Bruce Banner in her and it's getting exciting. -Trich and pistil dev in full force while shedding these trichs like crazy and caking the entire top fans in THC goodness. Keep pushing big girl! The Bad: -4 Week Streak. No bad👌 The 'Meh': -A bit of early browning on some pistils but it's localized and only on certain tops. No mass pistil die off which is all I care about. With the adjusted feeding this week, she has been pushing new pistils to replace the older ones, shedding even more trichs as she goes along. Sweet! -I feel part of the preemptive browning was being caused by the SF being a tad too close, so she's been backed off another few inches. Afterwards, no more visible spread of brown pistils were occurring. Notes of the Week: -Feeding schedule has been changed again with all girls as their needs are clearly high. Raised my EC to full dose feedings while keeping a couple additives @ 1/2 to see if there are any issues. If not, moving to full feeds for the remainder of the grow and help these girls achieve their full potential. -SF-2000 comes tomorrow!!!!!!!!😀😀😀. It will be unpacked, tested and put into action immediately. She will be in all pictures next week. Stoked! -Pulling all girls in now and trying to control their side laterals that have been pumping out and interfering with one another and/or the side of the tent. SC and DD haven't been done yet, but PSK and GDPB have been and movement has gotten quite a bit easier. -Decided already that Green Planet nutes aren't for me but will finish up this grow with their line (except a couple additives from other suppliers). I am not a fan of the dosing and these manufacturers really need to assess what WE need to complete a grow. As it stands, by the end of this grow, there will be half of micro formula left, 80%! of grow formula, probably nothing left of Bloom and will probably run out of their Massive formula before the end of the grow. This is a box set that I purchased, so I fully expect that there will be adequate nutrients in that set to carry the entire grow without running out or having far too much excess left over. The concentrations also seem off and I feel they could do a far better job at optimizing their product instead of watering it down. A good example of a company selling a box set that WILL cover your needs comes from Future Harvest and will probably be the next line I run with. They know what you're going to need and what you're going to use. 1L Micro, 500ml Grow, 2L Bloom along with their veg and bloom additives. They know damn well I'll be using a lot more Bloom and micro then grow, so they adjusted it and aren't making us pay for the privilege of more product we won't even use. (This turned into a ramble, HA! Oops) Run-Off Reads: GDPB Last Read: 6.2/6.3pH and 1028ppm GDPB New Read: 6.2ph and 915ppm PSK Last Read: 6.2pH and 1077ppm PSK New Read: 6.1pH and 1200ppm (Higher then expected, but a suspected dirty pan may be the culprit. Forgot to clean before hand and it warped the run-off reads. All is well) Mmmmk, that's the week folks! Thanks for stopping by and seeing big beasty😀. Happy to have her around and happy that you all stopped by for a gander. I sincerely wish you a happy, content and healthy week with you, your friends and family. Much love and take care all. Cheers!✊👋 **Special Note Edit** I've been seeing many beautiful and unknown/unseen grows and growers as of late. Some or most of these individuals are very talented but don't have too many eyes on their projects. I started on Monday by tagging a grower and I feel I will tag a new grower twice a week, every week. These are just growers that I respect. Growers that are helpful, supportive and share the obsession. They may not get many views (yet) but if you all are interested, please to check them out and give em some love. I feel their efforts and grows deserve such love. The second person I'm tagging is @quackerjack. This dude has been supporting me and others for a looong time, puts out beautiful specimens and beauty bud. If you're looking for a good person to follow, a good person to talk too, this is the guy🙂. Check it out if you haven't already! Thanks all and happy trails👍

@FoTwenny, well it's a cracking DIY job .. when I have a bigger space I'll be writing for help 😁 - thank you ..

@JinksyGrows, I am also considering buying a small Electric Hoist to raise and lower the units too and use "yo-yo hangers" on each corner to keep from the units from spinning. Might sound excessive, but having the ability to quickly and easily raise and lower the lights would be well worth the investment. I have been eyeing one with 110lb capacity and it only weighs a little over 12lbs. Anyhow, if you have questions or if I can help in anyway, please let me know. Happy growing!

Oveerwatering Issues=?. I feel you- To me the watering Regime is the hardest one to learn in indoor growing. It took me a good number of grows. I ended in watering daily, and smaller amounts. and Always to look for the plant before i water^^. If you have tiny plants, use tiny buckets to water them. ( a small glass )etc. You may take longer, but you cant overdo it. Or take a small plasticbottle and do some markings onto the bottle. so you see how much you want to give to one plant. and can Control how much they already got.

@Mrs_Larimar, got that right. I have no issues watering of established plants but seedlings in final pots are a bitch.

@Mrs_Larimar, This is exactly what I've started to do as of yesterday, haha. I can't be trusted with the 100mL syringe, so I'm back to bottle feeds. Going waaay better, haha. Thanks👍. I'll stop drowning them😅

Man how did we experience the exact same thing at the same time!? Reading the comments I’m so glad to hear they’re bouncing back!! I just had 5 nodes when I overwatered and had 0 growth for 7 days and lost the 3 lower nodes on all my girls. Since reporting in fabric pots they’ve bounced back and are growing as good as ever! Can’t wait to see how yours bounce back man, good luck!!

@ButtersStotch, Funny eh? Haha. Well, not a that funny, but crap does happen. And we're in the same boat, but it a good way this time🙂. I moved mine to 3 gallon fabrics too and they're moving surprisingly really well now. Woot! Congrats on the recovery man. Onwards 😀👍

Thanks!* ==================== Alibaba is like the Chinese Version Of Amazon https://www.alibaba.com/ they have some of the best prices on lights - you can get lights of better quality at much less than you would pay locally I was going to buy a spider farmer for my 4x4 but went instead with this light and can not be any happier. @Mrs_Larimar, That's a good point. I was looking at last week's pictures and trich development and she is moving very quick. The purple and fade only started 4 days ago too and that's going really fast. May have to cut down sooner, but I'll let her tell me😉. Just keeping a real close eye on them now.

Good to know about the benefit of ticking analog as nice programable digital. Come to think of it, these household timers, are usually design for fence light or even night light. They are not rated for the wattage for grow room at all.
JinksyGrows
JinksyGrowscommented5 years ago
@Med_in_Tropic, You've got it, 100%. Residential timers being used for commercial lighting. Danger😮. With LED, the wattage is nice and constant without a spike👍. Thanks for reading man!

Out of curiosity, what was your starting soil?
JinksyGrows
JinksyGrowscommented4 years ago
@Huggomadd,No doubt man. I learned a big lesson from this, and maybe it was necessary (?). I was taking people's word at face value, but they could have literally know nothing in the first place. I test everything now, lol! And only buy mediums that the seller has proof of using and/or testing before use👍. Live and learn! But this one hurt. Oof.
Huggomadd
Huggomaddcommented4 years ago
@JinksyGrows, The standard should be that garden centers/shops stand behind their products because they've tried them out previously themselves. Like tried and true. Hard to say; "Yeah this product works great and gives you a huge/great harvest. You should pay the $ and try it." When they truly haven't got a clue about the product.
JinksyGrows
JinksyGrowscommented5 years ago
@Ga4rd2en0er, Non name brand, locally sourced soil, sold at a gardening greenhouse, not a hydro shop. I've had words with the greenhouse already... Haha. Not happy, and told them to pull the product, less they have another 40 of me coming to crap on them. I asked if they ever test their substrates before selling them, too. They said no... So, won't ever trust them again. Edit 1: The soil was sold to me as 5.5pH seeding soil, btw. Higher N to PK volume. Should be standard stuff... Not sure how or where it got turned sour. Edit 2: And things are looking good, right now. I will not be kiboshing the project 👍. Lost time, but they're moving very well, now, in their new home

@HazeyBobby, I sure hope so🙂. Did a bunch of LST on 3 of 4 today and really starting to see exponential, daily growth. Slow and steady wins the race, but fast vegging plants is a beauty sight👌☺️
