Hello all you happy gardeners. Welcome to Week 7, Veg w/ GDPB. The Deets: The Good: -Really happy to be able to write this entry. GDPB is doing quite well right now and her health seems to be in full swing. She absolutely blew up this week and I'm impressed, but also a little intimidated, haha -Moved to Late Veg Feeding and then into Transitions schedule this week. She took it all and was really hungry. The tiniest leaf tip burns occurred on the newest growth, but already grown out :) -Transplant from 3 to 5 gallon on Saturday went very well too! No stress or stunting noticed, just kept plugging away. She was also fully rooted and it was nice to see that she did travel so well and used up the space that was given. -Today, after a little recovery, I took some lower growth (suckers) and nothing was amiss here either. Didn't react and just kept pushing. Happy little oval. The Bad: -Holy crap, no bad, and that's not just wishful thinking. She look good👍 The 'Meh': -Space restrictions are getting tighter and tighter. We are going to have to plan the flip here soon as there is not much else for her to travel too. This is a good 'meh'. -I trained this plant to look like a bubble...but she's an oval. Not a bad thing, but there's some wasted space that I want to fill and the oval shape makes her a little hard to rotate and move. We'll see if she takes a bubble form by end game, w/ a tad more LST. If not, it's a non issue. -Had poor circulation in the tent and a weather swing where it got cold (frigging snowed. What!) and RH spiked. The house was 70+ RH, so even my intake wasn't dumping it...just replacing it with more moisture. Anywho, a few days of this and I did notice some sweating on over-lapping leaves. I gently soak up the water on the leaves when this happens, but it appears I missed one. Some blackish markings on one of the under canopy fans (that was over-lapped) concerned me and I took it right away. For now, there was a total of 3 blades affected, all removed. Notes of the Week: -In my Space Cookies and Dutch Dragon diaries, I go through my mistakes and how I went about rectifying them. Long and short of it is under-fed, but detail as to what I was noticing, where I felt I messed up and how I planned to get them back is all listed in those two diaries "Notes of the Week". These plans have already been executed and we're moving forward. Neato. -Transplants completed in full by May 24th (Space cookies last) from 3 to 5 gallon fabric pots w/ 15mL per gallon of Gaia Green Bone Meal for pH conditioning and slow release P/Cal to carry the girls through bloom. I did this last grow and I was amazed at how well my pH held and how healthy they were throughout flower. -Moving to 1-2 gallon fabrics with a VELCRO side for easier transplants, next grow. Love the fabrics, but they act like Chinese finger traps during the move. -All plants have had their late Veg and Transitions schedule feedings, now. They all took it well and took it all. Color isn't perfect yet, but things are coming back to normalcy. -PSK is still angry at me, and she has every right to be. She has not bounced back as well as her counterparts and I feel it's still a little touch and go with her. Again, not holding any expectations. I have faith she'll make it to end game, but I'm not going to put money on it just yet. -Going back to normalcy took time. I didn't use or do anything new or unknown to me when doing these adjustments. Just did what I know and I feel that's why we're back on track. Trying to much, too fast can be a burden. Please, other new growers, heed my warning. Experimenting is good! but beware of the consequences 😮 -Comparison from Grow #2 shows that this grow is moving faster then the last...what? I made a lot of mistakes here, but for some reason they seem to be 1-1.5 weeks ahead of last grows girls. No complaints. I feel I can attribute some of this to the SF, since I ran my second grow under a small LED strip for the first 2.5 weeks, but this grow they were under the SF by the beginning of week two. Kicked things up a notch (?). -I haven't been to crazy about pictures and my diaries lately. It's not that I don't care, it's just that I've been getting out more, now that travel restrictions are getting a little more lax. I miss human frigging contact!!!!! I'm an introvert, but even I was feeling very isolated. Thanks all for dropping by, for reals. I've been meeting some new contacts on here and I'm really happy to continually meet new, like minded people. Love all the grows, knowledge and wisdom kicking around on this site. It's not perfect, we all know that, haha. But man, I can honestly say things keep going well because of all of you. Left alone to my own devices, this learning curve would take x5 as long. Like, I genuinely appreciate it all. Keep throwing info at me, I love it. Cheers all and happy trails this week. See you on the other side :) ***HEY! SIDE NOTE. I've been talking to new comers about extraction/intakes/air pressure and how to mitigate RH and temp with them. I added in a really ugly wiring diagram I made on Microsoft Paint, LOL! This picture is of my current set up. It is for people that do NOT run extraction 24/7 but only want it to intermittently cycle to control RH and temp. It's a bit cheaper then going out and buying a humidifier to make up lost RH or a heater to make up for lost heat. It takes some calibrating and depends on your environment, but when you dial it in, man is it a breeze. Just throwing it out there and hoping it may help someone that doesn't want/need that 24/7 pull. Thanks! Drop me a line in PM! Cheers again!***

@FoTwenny, well it's a cracking DIY job .. when I have a bigger space I'll be writing for help 😁 - thank you ..

@JinksyGrows, I am also considering buying a small Electric Hoist to raise and lower the units too and use "yo-yo hangers" on each corner to keep from the units from spinning. Might sound excessive, but having the ability to quickly and easily raise and lower the lights would be well worth the investment. I have been eyeing one with 110lb capacity and it only weighs a little over 12lbs. Anyhow, if you have questions or if I can help in anyway, please let me know. Happy growing!

Oveerwatering Issues=?. I feel you- To me the watering Regime is the hardest one to learn in indoor growing. It took me a good number of grows. I ended in watering daily, and smaller amounts. and Always to look for the plant before i water^^. If you have tiny plants, use tiny buckets to water them. ( a small glass )etc. You may take longer, but you cant overdo it. Or take a small plasticbottle and do some markings onto the bottle. so you see how much you want to give to one plant. and can Control how much they already got.

@Mrs_Larimar, got that right. I have no issues watering of established plants but seedlings in final pots are a bitch.

@Mrs_Larimar, This is exactly what I've started to do as of yesterday, haha. I can't be trusted with the 100mL syringe, so I'm back to bottle feeds. Going waaay better, haha. Thanks👍. I'll stop drowning them😅

Man how did we experience the exact same thing at the same time!? Reading the comments I’m so glad to hear they’re bouncing back!! I just had 5 nodes when I overwatered and had 0 growth for 7 days and lost the 3 lower nodes on all my girls. Since reporting in fabric pots they’ve bounced back and are growing as good as ever! Can’t wait to see how yours bounce back man, good luck!!

@ButtersStotch, Funny eh? Haha. Well, not a that funny, but crap does happen. And we're in the same boat, but it a good way this time🙂. I moved mine to 3 gallon fabrics too and they're moving surprisingly really well now. Woot! Congrats on the recovery man. Onwards 😀👍

=====You Asked====== *Any quantum board suggestions, or whether you'd prefer two lamps over one? Please leave em below with a link! Thanks!* ==================== Alibaba is like the Chinese Version Of Amazon https://www.alibaba.com/ they have some of the best prices on lights - you can get lights of better quality at much less than you would pay locally I was going to buy a spider farmer for my 4x4 but went instead with this light and can not be any happier. @Mrs_Larimar, That's a good point. I was looking at last week's pictures and trich development and she is moving very quick. The purple and fade only started 4 days ago too and that's going really fast. May have to cut down sooner, but I'll let her tell me😉. Just keeping a real close eye on them now.

Good to know about the benefit of ticking analog as nice programable digital. Come to think of it, these household timers, are usually design for fence light or even night light. They are not rated for the wattage for grow room at all.
JinksyGrows
JinksyGrows
@Med_in_Tropic, You've got it, 100%. Residential timers being used for commercial lighting. Danger😮. With LED, the wattage is nice and constant without a spike👍. Thanks for reading man!

Out of curiosity, what was your starting soil?
JinksyGrows
JinksyGrows
@Huggomadd,No doubt man. I learned a big lesson from this, and maybe it was necessary (?). I was taking people's word at face value, but they could have literally know nothing in the first place. I test everything now, lol! And only buy mediums that the seller has proof of using and/or testing before use👍. Live and learn! But this one hurt. Oof.

@JinksyGrows, The standard should be that garden centers/shops stand behind their products because they've tried them out previously themselves. Like tried and true. Hard to say; "Yeah this product works great and gives you a huge/great harvest. You should pay the $ and try it." When they truly haven't got a clue about the product.
JinksyGrows
JinksyGrows
@Ga4rd2en0er, Non name brand, locally sourced soil, sold at a gardening greenhouse, not a hydro shop. I've had words with the greenhouse already... Haha. Not happy, and told them to pull the product, less they have another 40 of me coming to crap on them. I asked if they ever test their substrates before selling them, too. They said no... So, won't ever trust them again. Edit 1: The soil was sold to me as 5.5pH seeding soil, btw. Higher N to PK volume. Should be standard stuff... Not sure how or where it got turned sour. Edit 2: And things are looking good, right now. I will not be kiboshing the project 👍. Lost time, but they're moving very well, now, in their new home
