You should wait for a healthy and vigorously growing plant, if doing it early as possible. 6-7 nodes will be safe and not kill it, assuming you aren't taking off 3-4 nodes, lol. When i worked in a greenhouse, they said it's safe to prune every other node, but that wasn't marijuana. fimming is topping. No 'extra' nodes are ever produced with you top. fimming is a myth, just top normally. If you try to "fim" the best you get is a normal top and the worst is some mutilated leaves that won't cause and meaningful redistribution of auxin. I'd wait for at least soem auxiliary growth -- and growth that matters, not something tha twill be covered up... If this is a short vege plant, then do it early. If you are growing out a 3x3 canopy, these lower branches are likely to be trash anyway. You still need to top, but maybe not to grow out the lowest 2 for sure.

hey there Dedwad ! it's all about how you want the plant to be, the mor you wait the more mains you can get right? so imagine a set of main per level, if you wait 6 or more levels and take two off you have four mains, wait 5 levels or less and take two off now you have 2 mains. In the grow room you're god, so it's up to you ! I like to wait for 4 or 5 sets of leafs so the plant isnt as young to not stunt the veg as much. Hope this helps ! 🚀

No real time can top soon as the first leaf shows. I personally wait till the 2nd true leaves start and cut there. Then wait for the 3rd node on the 2 tops and pinch them. Just continue that way. Can check out my 3 blue kings diary if want to see how far can go with topping. Have about 50 tops on her

Hello.. Hope you are well.. I personally dont top/fim until at least 2 sets of 5's av appeared.. Once u do this and her new growth has grown a few inch u cud then start lst training which just helps her grow more rapidly and is a gud way of keeping her height down and producing lots of even distribution on buds development.. Stay safe n gud luck on ur greens.. 👍🍀
