Why do you top your plants?

This isn’t really a question but I just wanted to show you guys the effectiveness of LST/HST. I did an 8 cola mainline last grow, so I’m very familiar with topping.
This is definitely a good method to achieve a topped canopy while reducing veg time:)

I love me some LST.. And Topping Changes the Branch structure that's all in my opinions as well. Why do so much damage when you can just do this? I think a lot of people just do all the training because they can.. It doesn't really help their yield or anything. It's just some people really like having 4 huge buds. I like lots of buds.

Mainline is a great way to get some fat nugs and a great structure on a plant. However I've found that your environment needs to be on point especially when you have big colas , as they're more prone to mold. But if you can keep that humidty low mainline is the best plant training method imo. It does take a bit more time in veg but with the right genetics you can get a huge yield in a small space. With no popcorn bugs underneath.
Looks like you have trained your girl well you'll have some nice sized buds on her. She's ready to start flowering. :) Good luck 🌱

I like the look of that mate, I can appreciate training like this, love training them. I've got a mephisto grizzly crinkle auto I topped 7 times, no defol or lollipopping though, looks tidy I reckon. Good luck mate, I'll look forward to giving this a go 😁

When is it too late for Lollipopping?I am on Day 28 of flower. Is it too late to lollipop a few small popcorn buds? Or will my plant recover from this?

Removing smaller bud sites?I'm in flowering week 6 and I notice very small bud sites on some branches. Is it recommended to remove the smallest buds sites at this stage? I was away during the first two weeks of flowering and could not lollipop properly. Thanks for your tips!!

FloweringTryed super cropping about 6days ago has taken well to 90 angle got a few more sites to it still been growing an inch a day heading for the light so having to tie it down still using LST to keep centre open removed at least 15 leaves am I slowing down flowering with all the abuse

they stared to flower and bud later then I thought so because I think it was the new light that I got for them wasn't to sure to adjust the dimmer settings too, finely got it dialed in, I think so. other then they stared late they are looking good. I see potential them. 👊👍4 years ago
