I would not be removing any leaves, there is absolutely no need to and it is not a prerequisite for growing cannabis. Your plant needs every healthy green leaf she has to make the energy she needs to grow her biggest and best flowers. Less leaves = less energy = less growth. It really is that simple and basic plant biology 101. Removing perfectly healthy, green, energy producing leaves, then forcing your plant to grow new leaves, seems rather pointless to me and a massive waste of time and energy for the plant no doubt. Besides, if your plant did not need those leaves, it would not have grown them in the first place! For all these reasons, defoliating before flowering, is the absolute worst time to do so, if ever. Hope this helps, Organoman. (and vehement anti defoliation advocate!)

Yes but no look at my black sugar SOG week before the flower flip and you can see a good visual on how much to take off before you flip the lights if you want to really you only want the top half of the plant growing anything that does not reach the canopy will quickly die off which can stress your ladies and cause all sorts of problems its best also to maximize the air flow in the tent keeps things nice and tidy I have an update due on my sog tomorrow if you look im sure you will see what i mean and how well the tecnique works if you get it right :) for a new time grow I would not suggest and training I never did on my first one i just let them grow and ran into a heap of problems but thats how we learn im still not perfect but im much further than were i was :) anyway do not defoliate a plant that is in flower for atleast the first 30 days as a rule :) when the plants are switching any stress can cause herms and mutations :) Alot of growers will read about hi tech training tecniques and want to jump right in and try them all though I dont think this is the best way. I think you must have a good grasp on what it takes to grow a cannabis plant normal before going into any training I mean Im not sure if you drive but Im sure if you do you had many lessons to pass your test growing is similar it takes a very specific type of person to be able to learn all that it takes to make a good crop in the short space of time that one grows and thats nothing to be ashamed off. we all haveto start somewhere as the grower below me has mentioned you will want to leave a good week for the plant to recoved if you do decide to defoliate and then flip the lights. if it was a hydroponic system i would say just a few days but soil everything takes longer im afraid. Though every grower that i know starts with soil lol.

You just need to defoliated all the large leaves , then the secondary leaves. This will open up the canopy and allow light to to reach all of your plant. Then give it a week at most to recover from the defoliation, then turn it to flower. She looks good. Good luck
