I "Homemade" some pH-, used the most biologically neutral acid I own... Citric acid. Some people said that's a great idea, others "Just buy Ph down". Any idea why Citric works so quickly, only to normalise? I also bought molassus, which did nothing. Say, BioBizz pH, 1use? or no

Its all about reactions - is the citric reacting with one of the compounds in your nutrients? I've been using biobizz pH and it works perfect, it is cheap and a small bottle will last a while.

Molasses is basically sugar syrup and will, as you found out, have absolutely no effect on pH or plant health either, for that matter. If you are into home remedies, plain vinegar can work as a pH lowering solution. As long as your pH is somewhere between 6 and 7, your plants will be fine, no need to have everything super exact, it is not that critical.
