Take off all the leaves covering any potential branch and bud nodes. The more light they get, the more they will grow into the top canopy. Take a look at my outdoor grow to see what doing that kind of defoliation can do and feel free to message me with any questions. I hope this helps.

I think you are right on point in doing a preflower defol just be very selective and only take ones that will block future bud sites it will also help with airflow good luck your doing great 🙌

Why defoliate "just because"? Just remember..... less leaves = less energy being made = less growth. Lollipop, don't defoliate - unless there are huge problems with high humidity, would be my advice.

If you do it i found two ways usefull. 1. Defoliate 2-6 days before flip and then dofoliate when small flowers will be on all plant, not just tops. Around day 14-21 of flower Defoliate now, give 5-9 days to recover, flip, defoliate on 7 day, no visible flowers yet, preflowers only, maybe top cola is showing first bud. At such time. I found those ways most efficient Happy Growing !!!

Thank you Anonymous2022! They are photos. I decided to just go for it and gave the whole inside a good thinning. Quite happy with the results. I’ll post some pics

Hi there If growing Autos i would only take off leaves if blocking light to lower buds in flower of you really have too.. If Photoperiods you can defoilate more i tend to thin out areas that are really dense to let light in and create airflow, Cut them off close to the main stem, but dont go crazy.. i do some every week if needed upto week 3 flower Best of luck 🌱
