Hey there the downwards clawing is a sign of root zone stress, and actually.you can fix this in less than 10 days and the plant will perk up. Probably very early on a single bacterial infection got to the tap root which is normal and often the bacteria and fungus that naturally occur in the soil have beneficial relationship with the roots. Often during transplant little plants will writhe and struggle for a few days because of this process. Yours just got infected and stayed like that no able to fight through. So what you want to do it burn off any problem root area with some humic acid or enzymes (chelation agents) . Start adding either one of those everywaterring until the plant makes a full recovery which should be like 10 days maybe less. Hope this helps ! š
