Should I chop more fan leaves? This is my first grow so I'm not sure how much I can do without stunting.

What MG says Let it stretch some. And before heavy pistils appear (heavy pre flower) make sure you get it done within that time. Mes MG he'll explain better.

Wait! Make sure the stretch is finished before any defoliation. The structure will open up.

As someone who has definitely cut too much and stressed the plant as a result, I recommend only removing individual leaves that block light or lower leaves that aren't getting any light anyway. Otherwise, let them grow a bit bigger before you think about removing more leaves.

Hey Milty! Congratulations on entering this world! Analyzing your diary, you're doing really well so far. My advice: DO NOT remove more than 2 or 3 fan leaves a day, so you don't stress the plant. When you do, leave at least 24 hours and see how the plant has reacted before removing any more. Remember to remove fan leaves to improve airflow and light penetration to the lower part. The fan leaves on the top are the ones the plant mainly uses to absorb light, so avoid removing them unless there's one that's really big and blocking lower branches. But for this type of leaf, I recommend removing at most one a day. If you have any questions, just ask us! Good luck and happy growing!
