The pot thingy (forgot what they are actually called) that you have started with are not really that good. I've used them in the past and the ph reading from runoff was always high. I found that they also needed putting into the final home to quickly and the root development was never that good. You would have been better using a small 0.5L plastic pot and then transplant it to a bigger pot after a few weeks. Always make sure you check your ph before watering and check your runoff until you get familiar with your method over a few grows. I use 2 ph pens. I calibrate before the grow and check them periodically throughout the grow. They tend to be quite accurate, I use the cheaper of the 2 ph pens to check my runoff with and use both to check what I'm giving them.

The easiest way to adjust the pH level is to use chemical pH-up and pH-down solutions. You'll need to water the plant, make sure the pH of the water is 5.8. keep watering to runoff and check pH. when runoff is within range (6.0-6.5) you are good.

I find that those PH pens don't always give an accurate read if they need to be calibrated. It is good to have two (for a second opinion). The standard rescue method is to run PHed water through it and then let it dry out for a long time. Easiest thing seems to be to just transplant the seedling to another pot (Try fabric grow bags) with a fresh batch of good soil.
