As long as it isn't physically agitated, the freezer is a great place.
In a freezer it won't lose much for 1-2 years or more. Even if it's 85-90% of what it once was, you probably won't notice in the end product. Terpenes that are more volatile will be lost sooner, so flavor could be impacted - not necessarily bad or good without looking at what gets lost faster - just potentially different over time... maybe one of the more volatile terps present is associated with a less preferred flavor? or not...
If you are counting in months, it's no big deal. I'd say use it within 1 year and make sure it doesn't get beat up in the freezer.
I'd also recommend doing bubble hash (ice-water hash). It is an extract using a sieve, too. Probably want more than one bag, though. You get less contamination, like chlorophyll and greater proportion of plant material turning dry ice hash green. It takes more time - figure 2-3 horus for 10-12 cycles of 10 mins each - wash cycle or stirring. It's a huge benefit to do larger batches as it takes roughly the same amount of time regardless whether you do an ounce or two or a pound. The "frenchy hash" videos on youtube are the best to reference.
your prference may vary, but i'd at least try it once... can do a small batch just to see the difference. That wouldn't be too strenuous to hand-stir some ice-cold water and a little weed in a bucket. Expect 25-30% return from buds and larf. Less from leaf-heavy plant material.
