Hey hey!
So a week has passed and we are back!
But quickly before I update you on what happened, I would like to correct myself on a little mistake I made in last weeks post- I had said that the frosted melon wreck and wautomint were from best coast genetics… I apologize, it turns out I was mistaken- those were actually from automatically delicious seeds- if you didn’t notice, great!!🙌 And if you did, I apologize-that was my bad I had realized midway through the week and just wanted to clarify and correct that mis-information.
On that note, let’s get into it!
So! First signs of life on Sunday day 5- it’s admittedly a bit longer than I had expected for the seeds to pop, but I’m actually going to go ahead and take the blame on that one. I don’t think that has anything to do with the genetics or even my germination method-
on average, going off of what I have personally planted in peat pellets, I’ve noticed that they will sprout in about 48 hours. I went to check on day three to see how it was doing and to my unpleasant surprise, I saw the peat pellet on its side inside the little domed container…. Which is why I’m taking the blame- I must have put it back a little too carelessly and THAT along with the fact that the bottom of that container is not perfectly flat…it probably just tipped over and I didn’t realize until I went to check on it (I had been in the closet each day leading up to then, but I purposely try and leave seeds that I’m trying to germinate alone- so I didn’t even take a glance (whoops) buuut I stood it back up Gently placed it back in that little cubby area and tiptoed in retreat and then sure enough 48 hours later on day five I saw that it has sprouted! I pretty much left it alone until today when I transplanted it into the cup.
When I split open the peat pellet encasing, I noticed that I wasn’t seeing the roots which I would generally expect to see at this point, but this I will assume is due to that mishap mentioned above… no biggie- I decided to go ahead as planned (for better or for worse) and sprinkled some mykos all along the outside of that peat pellet- it may not be currently in contact with the roots but they will inevitably end up growing through all the areas that I had any mykos and will soon be able to benefit from the addition of mycorrhizae.
For this run I will be using jacks 3-2-1 from start to finish (with some additional products) - I got it as a kit so it came with more than just the three parts but that is all is will be using for this first fertigation. I ph’ed the water after adding the nutrients and then added some recharge- I’m not sure if this is somewhat redundant after using the mykos but as long as it doesn’t hurt anything I suppose it’s okay for now 👍.
I watered it and brought it over to its new home- same closet different area- I raised it off the ground a bit and turned down the intensity of the light- I plan on gradually bringing it back up to full power but right now I am doing my best to refrain scorching it into oblivion 🔥🌞🔥 i am hoping that she catches up quick as I don’t want the other plants to be without their fair share of light for very long. But will happily sacrifice a bit of light until the rock candy cake is a bit more established and can handle some more light, some more fans etc.. yet again here I am at the end of another post, super happy to be here and stoked for all that is to come- thank you for joining me, and I’ll see you next time! Grower love! 💚🤙😎
