Mars hydro Pure breeding rock candy cake

Hey there everybody! We are back with an exciting update today at the beginning of week number eight and I can't believe how the time has flown. In my recent posts you may have noticed that I have been alluding to an exciting bit of information that was headed our way, and it's finally here! I didn't want to mention anything too soon but everything arrived last night and now it's time! I have been blessed with the amazing opportunity to team up with Fastbuds and grow out some of their amazing strains and I could not be more excited! Fast buds has been gracing me with its presence (and absolutely killing it!) in my garden from literally day one- these were the first genetics I had grown out period, not just of the auto flowering variety. I started out with wedding cheesecake and blue dreamatic and overtime, I have grown out even more of their strains and have always had consistently amazing results and I couldn't be more proud to be teaming up with them to grow out their fire genetics! To start, we will be growing out their gorilla cookies and their strawberry pie and I threw in forbidden runs for good measure! I have started another journal exclusively for those strains so go check it out and don't mess whats happening over there- With the rock candy cake I had reached a point where I had stretched everything out as much as I could with the bamboo stakes positioned as they were, so it was decision making time…. and what did I decide to do you ask? Well I decided to channel my inner Bob Villa and make a scrog net! The scrog net was super easy and honestly quite satisfying to build, I just used some 3/4” pvc pipe, some connectors and some string and next thing you know, voila! A brand new custom made scrog net that fits the closet perfectly! I started to weave the rock candy cake into the net a bit and I am slightly bummed, I had that canopy looking beautiful and now it looks ever so slightly janky as it is no longer AS evenly proportioned- I can get it back but it always makes me just a little sad after a heavy defol, but then of course it bounces back, flourishes and yields a heavy harvest soooo…. A necessary as well as temporary sacrifice… The rock candy cake seems to be doing well, no visible signs of deficiencies, seems healthy and is growing steadily, bouncing back from the defoliation I had mentioned earlier. Before I defoliated, I actually thought I was a lot closer to filling out that 3 x 3 space but after some pruning I realized that I in fact, probably still have a good few weeks before I’m getting towards the edges so I will make like a basket maker and weave away. Other than that, I am starting to prepare for winter and due to the fact that I was able to completely clear out one of my spaces I figured it would be the opportune time to move it to its winter home which is in a room with it’s on heater - so I moved everything over there and that will be where the fastbuds run resides. I will move them into that room when I transplant them but right now they are germinating in the same cubby area where I germinated the rock candy cake. So now it’s basically time to play a hopefully short round of the waiting game And time to eat some Wheaties because it’s about to be a trim marathon- all the wautomints are down, I have two ready to trim and two other that have maybe five days left to hang then some trimming. Believe it or not, I have more exciting news headed our way and we may have some more good friends joining this party so be sure to stay tuned and we will meet here same time same place next week.
