Hey hey everybody! I hope everyone had a fantastic New Years. I would like to start off with my sincere apologies, I totally missed my usual post day (and day after 😉) life has been happening as it does and I have had to divert some attention but don’t worry, we have still been making some serious strides in the grow, specifically the set up- so that being said, I will delay no longer- let’s get into it!
So as far as the rock candy cake is concerned, we are still playing the waiting game. Over all she has been doing well but I would never lie to my growmies, she seemed a bit upset with me yesterday, I would say this could be a combination of two things (but I have theorized and come up with a few more scenarios)
What I think happened is that it got a bit hot in the tent, that in combination with the Coco trying out a bit quickly. My daily watering timeline isn’t ideal, I leave for work pretty early in the morning while it’s still dark and get home around 3:30- so I end up watering everything when I get home but this one only gets attention once per day- I think that the root system is quite extensive in there unfortunately leaning more toward the root bound side of the spectrum (my fault, I have grown WAY more autos than photos, so that was an error in judgement on my part- I just should’ve put her in something bigger) and I think she’s just taking up all that water pretty quickly and drying out the coco a little faster than I had hoped- I am however, making moves that will help me deal with this issue in the future-
I have included a picture of a little project I have been working on- I am trying to automate my fertigation and monitor some of my climactic variables to help me dial things in. I have mounted half of my growtekusa fertigation management system (and yes I ordered the other half, it will be here Wednesday ) right now that feeding four of my autos, I am just trying to familiarize myself with the system and I may be adding onto it down the road- because I think that is EXACTLY what the rock candy cake needs! Just a bit more frequent fertigation, keep the coco moist and not fry the roots.
The ink birds are mounted- currently I have a humidifier, a dehumidifier, heater but unfortunately my portable air conditioner is not here yet (also on the way) It’s funny, it’s winter there is snow on the ground and yet I am having heat issues- I can (and do) open a window and it’s obviously the cheaper more environmentally friendly option- but the issue I run into is I have neighbors kind of close, within earshot and there are a bunch of windows in that room (I know obviously not the most ideal room to do it in however it was the only one that had space)
And the fans although overall are relatively quiet, they definitely generate a noticeable amount of noise- it’s not a sound that the average person would have coming from their house and I am just not trying to draw any attention so I went with the air conditioner…
The good news is once it gets here I will be able to set a temperature and will be able to trust that my ink birds will be able to keep the girls nice and comfortable
Another exciting thing that I have to report is my shipment came in from future harvest so I now will be able to run their full line which you might have noticed in that little nutrient chart above.
I am really stoked to be able to get to try out some of their other offerings and to anyone that is considering using them, I would just like to add that not only have my plants loved them so far but literally everyone I have dealt with at that company has just been amazing to work with they have all been really good people and really personable so it’s really been a win-win so far for me!(not trying to tell people what to do or what’s the best, just wanted to say if you’re considering them, they also have excellent customer service and all make themselves quite available.
Anyway that’s about it for now, I have to go do a rain dance or somethings so FedEx brings me my air conditioner and we can get those temperatures right! I hope you are all doing well and your gardens are busting at the seams with big beautiful buds and I will catch you next time hopefully the same time (sorry again about that! ) and definitely the same place and have a great week!! Growers love! 💚🤙🌱
My god! Your plants are full full full of buds! Incredible result!
