@Seed1997, Hey buddy. Well done on winning. It's up 2 GD to transfer your info like address and so on. Can take up 2 anywhere up to 2-4months. They only sent out FEBS contests to all the sponsors. So SF have probably just received today or this week. Don't worry about it too much, they'll honor your win. It's just gonna take time buddy. I know your contest wasn't in FEB but they seem to send 3 months out at a time I think, I could be wrong, but from asking other ppl who won comps as I was interested in wanting to know when I'd get my stuff you could be waiting up 2 4 months after said comp is finish.

@gottagrowsometime, na I dont need to rethink. It hit the nail on the head. You're here on a free site acting desperate for seeds, lights, and validation. If you would have been respectful to ghl and talked to him instead of about him you would have probably gotten a lot further in your journey. You can say I suck all day long and come after me but that is going to keep you in the position you're in. I don't give a shit about these contests or your perception of fairness. If the button is green and says join then most people will join. I'm not sorry that his strawberry is a winner. Winners win. And losers have 2 choices. Either congratulate them and learn from their effort or cry because you arent as skilled. You have showed all of us what category you fall in. Grow some good plants and spiderfarmer along with endless low end "sponsors" will be blowing up your dm wanting you to grow their genetics and use their lights.

@BioBuds, there was no attacks, no names mentioned, I just pointed out an 8 month observation. As you said 2nd place had no spider farmer products, all I said was there were loads more worthy diaries that was submitted from newbies to apprentices alike, just a shame that because they are not “networked” or “showcase their brand” as you put it, they don’t stand a chance of winning anything. Me I’m not too bothered I put out mediocre diaries cause I’m not out to impress anyone, if my grammar is shit then it’s shit, not everybody can be as educated as everybody else. But if in 2-3 years someone finds my diary in a random search because they’ve taken up growing too then this site has done what it is intended to do, you can’t take that away from this platform but and I’ll stick by this…unknown growers have no chance at winning competitions on this site because of as you said “look what roberts does” growers like this guy know how to play the system more than somebody who is new to this site. I have no issue with anyone on this site, I was just making an open observation on competitions! Peace!

@Pretty_Baked_420, 2nd place doesn't have any Spider Farmer products even and no videos. Diary is ok, nothing special... But overall, my experience is good diaries do get noticed, also when I just started. But... Also, clean diaries get prices. It is about, at least 4/5 images and a video every week, pics of high quality, a story that tells of what happened, what interventions but it does not need to be long. I hope you are not too discouraged. In the end, it's more about growing and the community. The prices are fun and motivation for sure but the best is the friends I made here, I don't have too many people who share my hobby. For me GD was a real distraction in the past year and lets forgive that they are also having to find a way with ten times the posts and members as before Covid. They are trying to improve and respect that this community is for stoners and by stoners, lets agree nothing is ever going to be perfect with our main shared hobby 😃 Maybe we can help them out, as a community? How about users who can help select winners? Like jury duty.. Also, we can stop posting diaries that do not follow guidelines to help the selection. And please, people, do not enter if you do not have complete diaries, with all weeks, with photos (at least 4 or 5) and a video. But also think of grammar, readability, useful info, and stuff you encountered. It is not just a pic of a plant and two lines. If you spend considerable time caring for the plant, take this time for your diary. See what Roberts does? It is all about his process, his plants, his feeding, his caring. Not only can we learn how to grow exactly like he does, as I did. Also, he writes very clearly, follows a philosophy that clearly works for him, and shares that. Write and record as if you want us to learn the way YOU grow, why you grow that way, Why you chose a strain, why this fits your needs and tastes. Why you chose a light, brand of nutes, tent or other gear and realise this site is all about community and all about branding. If you want the brands to notice you, happy brands are happy GD, happy GD is extra points. Look what Roberts does: he showcases all the brands. Not just mentions them... Now, he might be showcasing a different brand... But these brands are not allowed just to choose their own stuff as winners all the time. What do you choose? Growers that follow the above and know that next time when Mars gets to do a contest, they guy with a great showcase but now for your brand, will win too. It is all political, we are in the happy place of a demilitarized warzone for brands that run cutthroat competition. In this zone a sort of truce is going where attacks are not allowed but followers can be persueded to switch / try and promote your brand. Which followers do you thinjk they go for? The ones showcasing theirs and other brands. With more views cause of high quality content and thus more followers. Hope to see you for the next ones and youll kick our asses. Hang in their buddy!

@GMSgrows, nothing beats the AMS competition, getting to name a mascot is a cool idea. We should have message spider farmer and asked for some of there equipment just so we could join the competition.
