Hey growers, @Plagron , and Zomnesia,
the pairing of Plagron and Zamnesia, raises serious ecological concerns. Rows of Plagron's plastic liquid nutrient bottles (often 90% water) paired with Zamnesia's heavy promotion of feminized and autoflower seeds contribute to unnecessary waste. Massive shipping emissions from heavy water weight, endless plastic pollution, spill risks sending concentrated liquids into waterways, and genetics that create dead-end, one-time-use plants while sidelining resilient regulars.
Feminized seeds (often unstable polyhybrids and unfit for breeding) and autoflowers (often 18+ hour lighting for higher electricity use, plus shorter, more resource-intensive cycles) lock growers into repeat purchases, reducing genetic diversity and long-term sustainability compared to stable, breedable regular photoperiod strains.
Dry nutrients you mix yourself (soluble powders for hydro or organic amendments for soil) are far superior ecologically and practically. Lightweight for lower emissions, minimal packaging, stable combinations (no need for multi-bottle splits due to precipitation), zero spill hazards, drastically cheaper (60-80% savings per grow), indefinite shelf life, and full customization.
Hydro growers: Proven dry salts like Jack's 321 or Masterblend dissolve cleanly and deliver professional results in any system.
Soil/organic growers: Amendments like Gaia Green build thriving microbes for slow-release feeding and superior terpenes/flavor.
To @Plagron and Zomnesia: Your customers (home and commercial) are ready for concentrated dry nutrient alternatives and more regular photoperiod seeds that empower breeding, diversity, and true sustainability without profit-driven dependency.

@The_Wanderer, 18h autos vs 12h photos is not much of a difference in electricty. In fact, you may even get greater efficacy with a context of running lights at lower wattage over 18h vs 12h. You provide the same DLI and it costs roughly the same watts over any duraction of time. watts per umol/s produce don't shift too much. My diy led strips produce 53umol/s PAR at 0.7amps constant current and 105 umol/s at 1.4amps. Gain a percent or two of efficacy at double the power flowing through it. You lose efficacy, in general, not running a driver at full load, so that's probably more than offset.
Worrying about this environmental impact is like worrying about a pinhole leak on the titanic after an iceberg rips a gaping hole in it. The overall behaviours of everyday life, especially in more developed nations is a grotesquery of modern times. People that think they are 'green' often are far from it, but they feel super good about themselves while doing useless things. The scale of this pending catastrophe is far beyond simple acts.

@The_Wanderer, You talk about ecological concerns and shipping plastic but you use AI for images? nice logic. Second lie is with ur feminized seeds are unstable polyhybrids tells u have no idea about breeding. 3rd lie is autoflower dont use more recources on intensive cycles and its only solution someone to grow indoor or outdoor. 😂

@NewMan, Make sure to add the Green Sensation as an used nutrient, last year this was required for the diary to pop up in the list. What I did was add Green sensation to the 1st week of veg with an 0ml/L amount.

@Plagron are we allowed to use different base nutrients? I'm using all Plagron additives already but switched to different base nutes.

I got my confirmation email the day after I entered... But I applied early. Hopefully the packages start heading out soon, got 4-6 weeks left in the current cycle, then to cleanse and begin again. Pretty stoked about the strain as well.

@Plagron Hi, I see (almost) everyone states Green Sensation in their nutes from germination, ot at least from the start. I've been using Green Sensation already before the contest started but only give it from week 4 flower. But I do wonder, do we have to add it to the diary in week 1?

@Versize, Hey bud! People are just doing this in order to be able to add their diary to the contest. Requirements are using the Green Sensation & sticky broccoli seeds, so by adding it early in your diary you can add your diary to the contest already! :)

Darf man erst am 1. Januar ansetzen oder geht das auch schon vorher? erschließt sich mir jetzt nicht ganz aus dem post. Mein Paket kam schon an und sind auch photos drin. Würde sie auch gerne in ein paar tagen schon einsetzen wenn es nicht gegen die Regeln ist
