Autos begin to flower somewhere after deploying the 5th or 6th node (usually after the 5th); a 2 ft plant with 5 nodes is not better than a 6 inches plant with 5 node, actually it's worse, since all that height is useless and makes really hard to have an even canopy. (my last run I had 2 autos of that same size pre stretch, check them if you want).
Not related to your question, but half a gallon of water a day is asking for trouble; the plant is been over watered at the very least and you could attract fungus gnats at worst. For that size, use 50% or even 25% that amount every 5 days.
