Defoliating an Auto-flowering strain is vastly different from a photo period mainly because the plant control when it goes into flowering and stunting it during this process can lead to decreased final product. Ideally if you defoliate then its best done before flowering, because the first 3 weeks of flowering are so important. I recommend tucking the larger fan leaves away and under the younger growth as much as possible to increase light penetration without sacrificing stress to the plant. Defoliation is obviously possible but only recommended right before flowering and after the stretching phase of flower on the leaves you are unable to tuck easily. My general rules is, if I can tuck it then I will and most defoliation is in the form of lollypopping for thicker bud structure. I hope this helps with your question 😎

Hello! How much ? : You should defoliate a minimum, only leaves that are blocking light to a bud sites or a lower branch . When ? : Before you can see the 1st pistils because when they appear you plant will be in the 1st flowering stage called the stretch and will need more energy , It's too late after. Will it create a stunted grow ? : 50/50 chances to stunt or to boost her. That said , don't forget that plants use leaves for photosynthesis and to breath. I hope it will help you 😁✌️🏼

Hi @MGrow! Well, this must be done slightly and intelligently. Indeed, each leaf you pluck willl generate a hormonal reaction, as the plant will try to recover from this loss, and she will take hours (or days) to adapt to its new shape and grow vigorously again. That being said, it can be very useful if some leaves are creating shades onto lower parts that could be productives. In other words if you spot some hypothetical nice cola that's not getting enough light, go ahead and defoliate so the cola can get the maximum of light. But this theory has some limits: you can't remove all the leaves just to get a better light penetration on every cola, even if the buds are very good at catching the light, your plant needs some leaves to grab energy + sweat + breath + balance itself, so it's a tricky operation because you need to judge by yourself how far you can go with defoliation. To summup, yes you can defoliate an autoflowering strain, but it must be done with those considerations in mind. Hope that makes sense, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

A there so I think for most plants there's kind of a general guideline of doing about 10 to 20% be for flowering and then an additional 10 to 20% defoliation after flowering once the stretch has finished. But if you're doing more specific defoliation I would just watch for any big leaves that are blocking the Bud sites from light. I believe this strain has a very fast flowering. And can be finished in between 6 to 8 weeks roughly so you may not want to defoliated too much for fear of stressing out the plant. I would just look over the plant move believes check the sights and pluck however many leaves you need to it may only end up being 8 to 10 leaves. Your plant looks very healthy, and I think a key thing is that the leaves are there to take in the light so you won't want to take away too much. Better too little than too much
