So this is my first grow. I mixed my growing media 2 parts peat moss to 1 part fox farm ocean forest in five gallon pots. I am wanting to grow organic and have an all purpose 4-4-4 fertilizer and my other fertilizer is 2-5-3. Defoliate?Should I defoliate? As you can see in the pics, only the very top two nodes are growing fans, but it is getting crowded up on the canopy. The growth in the middle is from bottom branches that didn't stretch all the way up to the canopy, might use those for edible extraction.

So, the top half of my plant is about a week from harvest. The bottom half has started to look nicer as I've lost some of the highest fan leaves. Is it possible to cut off just the top half of the plant and let the lower portions continue to grow? Or is the shock too much?
