Defo or not

Week 3 I’m thinking I may do a heavier defoliation to expose bud sites but have had seeds in the past and am wondering if defo stress could be to blame. On the other side of it that canopy is packed and dark underneath, no light is getting through. Anybody have any suggestions?

1st I'd look from the side of the plant. Look at where your light can't penatrate through and draw an imaginary line and remove the lower shite. Then look down on top of the plant. Leave as much as you can, but if there are bunches of leaves sitting on each other or blocking light from hitting alot more leaves then remove a few leaves. I am not a hater of defoliation but you have to be tactical for it to be effective. Also try not to do it all in one foul swoop. If you remove all the lower rubbish wait a few days before attempting the top area. You also want air to be able pass through the plant. Stoned dribble.

Hi there, only defoliate if there is a good reason.Like do some defoliation to lower down tent humidity,to make a good air flow if too bushy.Defoliate some leaves If they are damaged or shaded below the canopy.May be some lollipopping if there are too many popcorn buds underneath.Other than those, shouldn’t do.Those fan leaves are acted like extra sources of energy for plants.Only recommend to defoliate at the start of flowering circle and again at 3rd week of flower or at the end of stretching period.Later that period ,you shouldn’t stress the plant anymore and let her grow happily until harvest.Defoliation at late flower stage could even lead to hermaphrodism.Happy Growing... ✌️

Looks beautiful to me! Leaves make bud, leave em on! (Mostly that is, except where they aren't getting along and trying to shade each other out)

Hey mate, I'd recommend only defoliating what you need to. Just take the big fans that are blocking bud sights. Make sure you have some decent fans and you'll be good. Cutting away leaves is going to stress the plant and possibly stunt for a little while depending on how many you take. Plus if you have the space for the extra leaves that means your plant can create more energy. They grow lots of leaves for a reason. I dont think it's worth, taking them without a reason. Hope this helps 🙂
