I put seeds in a paper towel and then planted them in small pots but still nothing popped out of the soil. Should i use a spray bottle for now or should i just pour water on the soil? Cause i don't think spraying it reaches all the way down but i think pouring drowns the seed.

if you spray enough it'd be fine. never superficially irrigate a pot. that only leads to bad things. The trick is doing things in a way that doesn't require an irrigation with a non-sprouted seed. avoid the whole sitation because it's easy to do. I expect seeds to sprout in 2-3 days, but sometimes it can take longer. I never got consistent results until i started using a heating pad with thermostat control. if you live in a warm area, this may not be necessary. if you use the paper towel method, you keep them there until after germination and the tap root is sufficient to plant in something solid. I don't use this method because it's a bunch of extra, useless steps mostly so people can "see" what you can just confidently know is happening, regardless. Though i will say, if you plant a sprout after using the paper towel method to germinate it, you really shouldn't have to worry about watering a "too young" plant, because it will be several days from that pointn before the next irrigation is needed. so, i'm assuming you had it in paper towel, didn't wait for germination then planted? definitely don't do that. either stick with the method allthe way through or just plant directly into the substrate. so, simply wet some small pot - the entirety. Plant seeds. wait. don't fuck with it. If worreid about a rare slow sprout, put a dome or cup over the pot/surface and you'll have 7-9 days before you need to irrigate again. this should be long enough to never have to water while a germinated seed is so young you worry about "drowning" it. Do take off the dome after it breaks ground, of course. always water entire pot. never partially water. are you teh same person i told a day or 3 ago to stop spritzing?? LOL it's a common mistake. don't feel bad. but it is wrong and leads to elevated risk and suboptimal root growth. No one knows this stuff inherently. you have to learn it. If you don't want to pour water, you can spritz it until you get a bit of runoff, then you know it got wet all the way down. don't over do this. you need some moisture but not a ton of it, so don't do it daily. allow it to dry off at least 33% of the weight before wateringentire pot again even if it hasn't sprouted, yet.

Heyoo, checked your diary. I manage a lot of friends on their growths, which includes at the moment endless germinations. I can tell you that at this root length you shouldnt borrow the seeds. Put the root in the soil, let the seeds lay on the ground or maybe only few milimeter like 1-2. Also be careful planting them, the seedshell is sharp as a knife sometimes and the root weak. Before you put the seeds, 24 hours damp the place completly with water, like pour a liter on 1 Spot and let it sink in, on next day you can use that area and wont need to water atleast 10days. Also regardless of deepness, if the root is not pointing downwards, the root needs a lot energy to change its direction if he even can make it. The papertowel method is great, but you playing with the natural behaviour of the plant and should be careful that when you plant it you hit the certain natural growth stage just as it would be in nature, a root upside down or to the side that length with a shell down or sidewards is messing with the plant. its expects to hit the surface soon at this length.

Did you plant them while enveloped in paper towel? eg you burred some paper towel and seeds together? If yes, that's is not good. If no, it might need more time. Other good answers below. won't get fully into it.

Germination or after planting? So germ 12-24hrs in GOW floating on top. Put in wet tissue until u see tap. Upon planting you'll know you have higher chance of sprouting And it makes it easier to plant. So put soil in the pot. Fill it up 8/10ths. Wet it. Root stim or soil enhancer. Anything organic needs to be started early in soil as it takes a few days for it to release. Add 1/10ths of dry soil. Then place the seed in so the root just touches the wet loose soil. This way. You won't need to water a new seed at all. As a high RH helps seedlings more. And lessens the risk of damping off (browning of the stem by like 99%. I've never had 1 go by doing using this method) I also do straight pouring near the stem. But typically you want a wet soil. As it'll settle and seeds fall over from soil caving in on itself. (This is what pulls seedlings over). So wet soil before putting any seed. You won't need to touch it for the 1st week +.
