1/4/22: -Plant 1 is still growing along like a genetic beast! Plant 2 is straying FAR behind. Plant 3 is improving once again. -Both plants 2 and 3 seem to be about a week or two behind Plant 1 in regards to flowering. They are just now beginning to show their first hairs. -Despite all 3 seeds being from the same vendor, the three seeds continue to grow quite differently and express completely different genetics. -If I were to draw a quick hypothesis, it would be that fertilization rates of the Worm Castings + 4-4-4 + 4-8-4 fertilizers I originally mixed into the medium were a little too much to handle for Plant 2. Plant 3 adapted as it grew, but plant 2 just doesn't seem to be catching up. It must still be suffering from nutrient lockout despite 2 flushes, with both runoff tests showing positive results. -Going to avoid any defoliation and LST for this week, unless completely necessary. Want to try and get the plants a bit taller and bushier, just to get more general photosynthesis/growth going as the flowering phase picks up. 1/8/22: -All plants seem to be doing well at this point. Only light LST to keep the canopies even. Fed with CalMag, Big Bloom, Great White. -Resumed 20 on - 4 off light schedule. Noticed an IMMEDIATE improvement in all plant sizes within 4 hours of having the lights back on. Seemingly, having the lights off for 4 hours did wonders for their height and budding. 1/9/22: -Despite not wanting to do much LST or defoliation, due to the plants lack of general height, a lot more defoliation and LST have been done. -Did not use any Tiger Bloom during last feeding.

I noticed some growth that looked like seed pods on my plants. I am completely new to growing, so I was wondering what you guys thought. Is this normal bud growth, or are these seed pods? I removed a few and there was seemingly nothing inside.

These are female calyxes and completely normal for female plants. You are correct, they are indeed seed pods, but unless fertilized with male pollen, will remain empty/seedless. Masses of these calyxes result in the "buds" we smokers all seek. The older primordia/pre flowers that occur near the stems mature first and this is why they are much larger and swollen in comparison to the calyxes that are now forming in the new flowers. Hope this helps, Organoman.

My harvested weed smells amazing, but tastes horrible. I'd say a bad chemical-like after taste. I thought it was due to poor flushing, but I flushed the 2nd plant for over 2 weeks and the 1st plant for 1 week. Not sure what caused this... Overfertilization? Something else?

U been curing for over two weeks?? First of all, make sure its not mold. Mold leaves a bad weird taste after smoking it. So make sure its properly dry and doesnt have that mold whiff to it when broken up. If thats fine and u didnt spray it with anything like neem oil during the grow move to next point... Second- Sour D takes ages to cure, most of the Chem Dog family does. 2 Months is more like the time u need on that one my friend. I have Sour D im smoking now I harvested last april- And its only been the last few months its settled down and is now very very smooth and easy to smoke. But I rushed the dry, so I admit its partly my own fault but even in years when I dried slower, It still takes longer than 2 weeks to cure. Give it more time and make sure your burping often for another two weeks at least.
