Can anyone shed some light on what the "judging criteria" are for selecting a winner? Clearly it is more than just a smiley face, single strain, diary with a harvest. What are the evaluators looking for? Do comments, likes and views from the community have bearing? Quality of photos, quality of content? What about knowledge sharing? Is there preference for certain breeders, certain equipment? I'd like to participate in these things, but I'd like to have an actual chance...
@GrowDiaries any insight would be welcome.

@001100010010011110, appreciate the advice… the, “conform to dogma” statement does seem to be the path, but I can’t help but think that goes against everything that is cannabis culture, particularly in cultivation. Anyways, lots of good diaries, not every one can win, but it does change perspective and the will to put forth effort to publish good and complete content.

@cultivars, hier gewinnen immer wieder dieselben Leute schau dir einfach die letzten 12 Monate an da sind nur Gurus oder Meister unter den Gewinner. Hier geht es nicht darum wer wirklich was kann sondern wer genug ärsche leckt und likes bekommt. Die gewinnen auch meistens deswegen mache ich auch nicht mehr mit da es eh kein Sinn macht. Eigentlich sollte keiner mehr mitmachen und du wirst sehen dass es ca 30 Leute sind die immer wieder abwechselnd gewinnen. Ich mache mir nicht mehr die Mühe da man NIE gewinnen wird 🤢.

Is it always the case that if you took part in the previous month and didn't win, you can no longer take part with this diary?

@BudBeezy, in time they will become eligible again... Soemtime in the next year or two you can re-submit that diary unless the future deviates from previous 5-6 years. Can't predict when. A major site update often causes it to reset, but i think they do a blanket reset every year or so.
hard to miss, so no worries. The populated list when you click submit diary will all of a sudden be full of old diaries once again.
